It’s the “almost” that keeps us going. I played the @BreedersCup Betting Challenge with a partner this weekend. We shared some strong opinions on Friday, and those opinions were (mostly) atrocious. We spoke Friday night about what to do with the remaining $3,000 in our bankroll on Saturday. The initial plan was to play a $2,000 double Further Ado/Kathynmarissa. I was ok with this plan. I felt Kathynmarissa was very logical. But after further reflecting on the terrible day American turf horses had on Friday, I was more persuaded when my partner said “I love the Further Ado/Coal Battle exacta”. It was my idea to make that the main Saturday play. And that was a mistake. Clearly. The $2,000 double we had planned to play would have gotten us around $40,000 or so. Other than Deterministic, we had every winner the rest of the day. But in the BCBC, we were already broke when Coal Battle failed to fire. I ended the day with the Classic exacta. And it’s likely we’d have put up a score north of $100,000 had we played the double we planned to play. Almost. 100% chance I’ll be back next year.

There is a very strong possibility that Dylan Donnelly has clinched the @BreedersCup Betting Challenge before the first BC race on Friday. I’m literally not even joking.

Word from the @keenelandracing barn area is that Knightsbridge is entering the @BreedersCup Filly and Mare Sprint.

I feel like that was not terrible for How’s Al Today’s credibility.

Does anyone have one graphic/image or a link to a web page that shows which horses are entered in multiple @BreedersCup races and which race is 1st/2nd preference without me having to click on a separate link for each horse to find out which is their first preference? @EJXD2 may have this I feel.

The 18 horses that ran in the 2026 Kentucky Derby have made 35 subsequent starts. How many wins from those 35 starts?

Premise: Incentives drive all human behavior. The corollary: How to destroy a country: A vast social security and support system that serves as a magnet for those who would rather not work. An open immigration policy that does not screen immigrants to determine their ability and willingness to provide for themselves and their families. An open immigration policy that does not screen for political and/or religious ideologies that are a threat to the country. Economic incentives large enough to incentivize immigrants on the state dole to have large numbers of children, but insufficient for educated and economically productive mothers to be able to quit to raise a family. The declining fertility of the most educated and productive women due to their delay to begin a family as a result of their desire and/or need to advance their careers, among other reasons, to live a life they deem consistent with their educational achievements and/or to repay their student debts. Amnesty programs that give citizenship and voting power to illegal immigrants without consideration of their economic productivity or their threat to the country due to their religious or political ideologies. The changing demographics and increased population due to the above factors. The state responding to protests by increasing social support. The continued failure to punish and hold accountable violent and looting rioters. Government managed by a massive and growing unelected bureaucracy. Government fraud, waste, and abuse contributed to ballooning budgets. Anti-business legislation that makes it difficult for businesses to compete in a global marketplace being disrupted by AI, including restrictions on firing even poorly performing employees. Overly burdensome, globally uncompetitive, corporate taxation. Continuous increases in personal taxes to raise funds to provide for the rapidly growing welfare state. The substantial majority of the tax burden levied on a small percentage of the population. A growing percentage of the electorate paying no taxes and receiving welfare. The introduction or threat of a wealth tax including the taxation of unrealized gains, i.e., taxes on paper wealth. The flight of the most productive business builders and highest taxpayers to lower tax countries with lesser security concerns. A growing percentage of the electorate voting for candidates that support increased welfare and laws favorable to, and/or that match the cultural and ideological needs and desires of a growing unproductive immigrant population. The rapid rise in anti-semitism and inadequate efforts to address this hatred. Increased borrowing by the state to fund the growing social burden. Higher sovereign interest rates due to all of the above. The resulting need to reduce expenditures to make the math work. Increasingly violent protests that make life less livable for the productive and law abiding citizens leading to their accelerated departure. And so on…

Replying to @brivael
With respect. The French people have been inviting this for 60 years. When you allowed the socialist left to take over, disarm you, make you believe 35hr work weeks and paid everything was what you needed… you fell asleep, lulled into submission by suicidal empathy. If you don’t want this, fight back. The French on whole look down their noses with a superior sense of morality at the crass Americans with our guns and our cowboys and our greedy capitalism. We want our French brothers to find a spine and remove the wool from your eyes. These riots are a symptom of the bigger problem, suicidal empathy.

Ok, so this would seem to suggest that the 2027 Pegasus World Cup Invitational (or whatever the hell it’s called) is actually going to happen. Let’s be honest, it’s reasonable to wonder.
Warming secured her spot in the Pegasus Filly & Mare Turf! The Graham Motion trainee punched her ticket with a win in the $200,000 Grade 1 Dance Smartly Stakes at @WoodbineTB, guided by jockey Fraser Aebly. 🏆

And the correct answer to this was “no”.
Is Prat going to win 7 races at Belmont on Saturday?
