I love Jane Austen, but for pity's sake STOP ADAPTING HER. Her novels have been done to death. There are many other unfilmed authors to do instead. Burney, Edgeworth, much of Trollope. Non-Hannay Buchan. Most of Wilkie Collins. If you like Regency romance, Georgette Heyer.

#otd 1932 the great Sylvia Plath was born in Massachusetts. She was a great fan of the Brontes, and her evocative poem 'Wuthering Heights' perfectly sums up the moors around Haworth that she knew and loved.

V cheered that Paths in the Snow, the first of my books about Narnia, is due to be published in the United States in a couple of weeks’ time. I’m intrigued by how different the cover is from the UK edition, but how excellent it is at the same time.

Is this the greatest ever opening line to a last chapter? Here is 'Reader - I married him' in Charlotte Bronte's own handwriting. Charlotte received her author copies of her first published book #otd 1847. Happy Jane Eyre day!

Sometimes the best project is realizing someone else’s vision. I was grateful to be the architect hired to restore an original saddle shop in Nevada. Built in 1910s it’s now the Cowboy Arts Museum. Restoring original architecture is always rewarding ❤️
