As a veteran, and a first responder... I know how it is responding to calls. I have never responded to anything as big as what happened 25 years ago... but I can tell you all of those that responded, they had one thought in mind, To just help.

Quinn Hughes says he doesn't "feel backed up against the wall where I have to sign before camp." Doesn't worry about it hanging over his head during the season, either. Said he loves it in Minnesota and the organization has nothing it needs to prove to him.

In the state championship game in 1985 Scott Bloom's wrist shot into the upper corner against Hill-Murray with 27 seconds left became forever etched into state tournament lore and lifted Burnsville to their first state championship.
Bloom instantly became the state tournament hero every kid wanted to be.
A year later Bloom led the Burnsville Braves to another state title scoring five goals and five assists in the tourney, including the game-winning goal in the title game for the second year in a row.
Bloom became a state tournament legend.
Scott passed away last week at age 58, rattling the Minnesota hockey community.
His former teammates and coach remember a player who wasn't just skilled, but tough, and determined to win in every situation on every shift. A player who thrived on pressure.
Scott Bloom will be greatly missed, but always remembered for his heroics on the biggest stage in our great State of Hockey.

Hard to fathom the loss of such an enormous force on the ice and big personality away from it.
Nobody was better under pressure than Scott Bloom.
Devasted for his family right now.
