The absolute least that we should expect from our elected officials is that they believe in equality for all their constituents regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. #EqualityAct
Who think that before it’s all over we’re going to see Trump throwing his own feces at reporters on live TV?
What the fuck are we doing? 🤦♂️

When politicians convince you that a tiny minority is a greater threat than poverty, homelessness, and unaffordable healthcare, you’re not witnessing leadership. You’re witnessing manipulation.

A couple days ago, I posted jobs numbers from the past 6 presidents, 3 Republican (Bush I, Bush II, and Trump) and 3 Democratic (Clinton, Obama, and Biden). Over 20 years, nearly 50 million jobs were added under the 3 Democratic presidents, whereas only 2 million have been added under the aforementioned Republicans, over the course of 17 years, 8 months. A good percentage of MAGA responders said something along the lines of, "The Democrat Party only added government jobs! Look at the private sector!"
Very well.
First, let's look at public sector or government jobs.
George H.W. Bush (R, 4 years): +1.127M
Bill Clinton (D, 8 years): +1.934M
George W. Bush (R, 8 years): +1.744M
Barack Obama (D, 8 years): -263k
Donald Trump I (R, 4 years): -575k
Joe Biden (D, 4 years): +1.816M
Donald Trump II (R, 1 year, 8 months): -230k
Democratic Presidents (20 years): +3.487M
Republican Presidents (17 years, 8 months): +2.066M
Difference: Democrats +1.421M/Republicans -1.421M
Not much difference. Now let's move onto the private sector.
George H.W. Bush (R, 4 years): +1.502M
Bill Clinton (D, 8 years): +20.979M
George W. Bush (R, 8 years): -368k
Barack Obama (D, 8 years): +11.812M
Donald Trump I (R, 4 years): -2.19M
Joe Biden (D, 4 years): +13.589M
Donald Trump II (R, 1 year, 8 months): +1.006M
Democratic Presidents (20 years): +46.380M
Republican Presidents (17 years, 8 months): -50k
Difference: Democrats +46.430M/Republicans -46.430M
That's right, over the past 37 years, 8 months, Republican presidents are actually underwater, as far as private-sector jobs go, whereas Democrats are 46 million+ above it. No matter what the GOP tries to sell you on the old, tired narrative that they're better for the economy, the numbers tell a completely different story.

If you're not careful, this whole Vivek Ramaswamy political ad scandal will make you crazy the more you think about it.
Because the candidate Mr. Ramaswamy isn't accused of sexual abuse.
None of his staffers or his family or his top donors are accused of sexual abuse.
There is zero correlation between his campaign and the sexual abuse that occurred. Think about that.
No, this whole thing is because Mr. Ramaswamy's team thought it'd be a great idea to run an ad featuring the mother of his opponent, Amy Acton, and apparently no one did sufficient vetting or seem to have cared about what they found.
At minimum, his team didn't think to ask: "Huh... so, you, uh, mentioned in passing you haven't seen your daughter in 48 years. That would have put her at age 12, right? That's kinda odd. Uh... what happened?"
And then the info comes out that her estranged mother lost custody of 12-year-old Ms. Acton and her younger brother in 1978 because her husband--their stepfather--sexually abused her daughter.
And the stepfather fled the state that year and several warrants (plural) were out for his arrest over the sexual abuse.
And then it's revealed the stepfather was previously prosecuted for raping his own daughter.
His team looked at all this and you'd think they'd be like: "Well... shit. That's a ton of legal evidence that her mother is a raging sociopath. We really didn't think this one through. This is bad. Let's figure out how to salvage this disaster."
But no!
Mr. Ramaswamy decides to spend all week defending the ad of his opponent's mother who hasn't had contact with his opponent in 50 years since she lost custody over sexual abuse.
And then esterday, Mike DeWine, the Republican Gov. of Ohio, calls on Mr. Ramaswamy to remove the ad and said "it's deeply troubling."
So, you gotta figure Mr. Ramaswamy is finally gonna pull the plug on this disastrous and bizarre dumpster fire.
But no!
Mr. Ramaswamy sees that the ad has vocal support from deeply unpopular Donald Trump, noted rapist and alleged pedophile, and thinks to himself: "Yes, Rapey Don is right. I should keep up the child sexual abuse ad."
And he puts $4M behind the ad buys, even though, by this point, the dark and disgusting context of the ad and condemnations of it by the Republican Governor are blanketing social media and local news stations across Ohio.
Here we are, 11 days out, and you gotta figure Mr. Ramaswamy knows his campaign is now on life support and the brain trust that was responsible for this ad in the first place is probably now advising him that he can make it through the next 11 days by just waiting it all out, admitting nothing, apologizing for nothing, withdrawing nothing.
Because surely 11 days is more than enough time for this whole thing to cool down -- you know, the whole denying and downplaying of documented child sexual abuse, while the top Republican in your state is publicly begging you to stop acting like a psychopath.
It's all a lot to take in.
What the hell are we doing? 🤦♂️
Texas man dies in ICE detention center—was a legal permanent resident in U.S.
ICE has admit in an official statement that he did have a green card.
Despite this he was locked up for 4 months.
Staff refused to give him his heart medication—and ignored his report of chest pain and trouble breathing the day before he died.
ICE now claims that he obtained his green card fraudulently by failing to disclose a 2004 arrest for theft.
His daughter says they are lying—that everything was properly disclosed and legally approved.

He was lying flat on his back in the road with both hands in the air, shouting that he was a therapist and the man beside him was autistic and holding a toy truck.
A policeman shot Charles Kinsey anyway. Kinsey asked him why.
The officer said: "I don't know."
North Miami, Florida, 18 July 2016. Kinsey, 47, was a behavioural therapist. One of his patients, Arnaldo Rios Soto, a 26-year-old autistic man, had wandered out of a group home and was sitting in the middle of the road playing with a silver toy truck.
Someone called 911 and reported a man with a gun threatening to kill himself.
Kinsey did everything. He lay down in the road on his back. He put both hands straight up in the air where they could be seen. He shouted his identification, his job, his patient's condition, and that the object was a toy. It is on video.
A SWAT officer fired three rounds. One hit Kinsey in the leg.
Then he was rolled over and handcuffed, bleeding in the road, and left there for a reported twenty minutes before an ambulance got to him.
He asked the officer why he had shot him. He has testified that the answer was: *I don't know.*
The officer, Jonathan Aledda, said he had been trying to protect Kinsey and believed Rios Soto was armed and a threat. He was charged — which is itself unusual — and tried twice. The first trial produced a conviction on one count of culpable negligence. A judge threw it out. A second jury acquitted him in 2019.
Nobody has been held responsible.
Kinsey survived and gave interviews, and the sentence he keeps returning to is the one everybody should take from this.
He was unarmed, flat on his back, hands up, announcing himself, in daylight, on camera.
He did everything right, and it did not matter.
Every Black parent in America who has ever recited the rules to a teenager — hands visible, say sir, do not move, announce what you are doing — has had to reckon with Charles Kinsey, because he followed all of them, perfectly, out loud, and was shot anyway.
What a touching and wonderful tradition. Thank you, France. 🥲
We’ll get through this current crisis, too, with your help.
