She used to run enterprise AI at Amazon. Before that Watson at IBM. Now she is CEO of EQUS and they just kicked off their first beta of EQUS X, a personal assistant.
We spent a long time on something most AI pitches skip.
These agents are not just learning that you like pepperoni. They are learning how you think. How you negotiate. How you solve a problem. Who you trust in a deal. Sandy has two daughters and she was trying to get them to see it the way she once taught them about posting on social media. Careful what you put out there. Except now the machine can learn your judgment, not just your photos.
That is useful. That is also terrifying.
She told me about a friend with cancer who went to the Mayo Clinic and came home with a huge stack of medical reports. He put them into an assistant so he could actually use the information. Great for him. Also the exact kind of data you do not want training someone else's model or getting used to target you later.

The difference is the data stays yours. You pick who it shares with. You can pull it back out. Same convenience people already want from agents that book trips and return Amazon packages, without turning your life into training fuel.
We got into agent reputation too, which almost nobody has figured out. If your agent buys five hundred boxes of Kleenex and stiffs Amazon, is that on you or on the agent? If it escapes a sandbox and does something you never asked for, whose reputation takes the hit? Sandy says they have patents around that.
Someone at Cloudflare told her reputation is one of the hardest problems in this whole stack.
She agrees.
She is writing a paper on the ROI of data ownership and privacy. Her real obsession is privacy that does not make the product suck. She has been studying how Stripe grew by living with a small set of power users instead of shipping something half baked to everyone.

AI initiatives generated $216M in business value through the first 9 months of 2026, Meta's AI investments are driving incremental ad revenue and Alphabet's Cloud revenue more than 2X last qtr. Corporate AI investment hit $581B in 2025, per Stanford HAI, up 130% year over year.

In 2024 just before the season opener, Veronica Burton learned she had been cut by the Dallas Wings. After being drafted 7th overall in 2022, it just never quite clicked. She averaged just 2.4ppg in 2023. Burton says she was embarrassed, she went home & worked out in a YMCA with her high school coach, waiting for her shot. The Connecticut Sun picked her up later that season, and the Valkyries saw her special potential. They picked her in the expansion draft, she was the 2025 WNBA Most Improved Player, and now she’s a champion. Resilience. #valkyries

In 1996, Bay Area Venture capitalist Joe Lacob had a dream of building a championship sports franchise. Joe believed women’s basketball was the next big thing & wanted to show his daughters that women’s sports matter. So he invested in the newly formed American Basketball League & became the owner of the San Jose Lasers, but the league abruptly folded in 1998 & Lacob lost $10million dollars. He said he had no regrets he still believed in women’s basketball. 30 years nearly to the day that the Lasers played their first game, the Valkyries played in game 1 of the WNBA Finals. Police punch Hispanic man already pinned to ground—22 times.
Officer had already shot him with taser.
"He stiffly hit the ground after being tased, and his head banged on asphalt," said witness.
"Cop mounts him and starts beating—later 3 more piled on."
Just because man was standing in the road blocking some traffic.
Witnesses say he looked like he was having a mental episode—and was not trying to harm anyone.
Emergency crews were called and took the man to the hospital.
Local police confirmed the incident occurred at 3:15 pm—but released no other details except to say it was "under review."
Incident occurred on Auburn Way near 37th Street NE in Auburn, Washington.
