this! every episode in the show exploring aang's character was shared with another character (usually zuko) same with the comics. the only thing that truly counts as aang solo content is the movie/novel. and yet everyone complained about the movie being *too* aang centric+

eh not really but this is a perfect example of how the media exploring aang as a genocide survivor always had to center someone else. zuko struggling with being the firelord, toph and her family issues. just to see people lie that he had all this solo content before the movie.

there's so much i wanna say about the aang novel and it's that while zks are being weird i also think some of the language everyone is using is a little strong and paints katara as intentionally malicious and neglectful or like she just wanted him to get over it

nothing pisses me more off than ppl acting like there was a love triangle in atla. Katara was never torn between Zuko and Aang, just as Zuko was never wavering between Mai and anyone else. It was her or no one. that “love triangle” only exists in ppls heads

I feel like some people would think I somehow like aang more as a character than katara js bcs of how much I've been defending him lately. but I can't help myself when I see such vile language used to minimize the suffering of a character who has lost everyone and everything.
