The more I think about this, the more I think this is (another) misfire from @WhichUK. Apple only restricts full device backups, plus health data & iMessages to its own cloud. You can back up documents/photos etc to any service you like news.sky.com/story/apple-sue…
Also, Apple hasn't banned third-party cloud services from its app store, which would be anti-competitive. Also, Google does the same thing, ie restrict device backups to its own cloud. So I don't know why Which? hasn't included Google in this rather quixotic action.

Apple users, on this lawsuit, @WhichUK alleges that Apple doesn't allow some of your stuff to be backed up to third-party services. I'm not an Apple user, so can't check this - which services are locked to iCloud? theguardian.com/technology/2…
