This was the first time I experienced a Katy album release as a Katycat, and I have no words to describe it. Thank you Katy for this incredible album and for growing up with you

22 years ago, 19-year-old katy perry wrote 'simple' for her shelved first secular album.. she had a dollar & a dream

this is a perfect example of why bridges are so important because this song was already perfect and then it got 10x better w the bridge

Mariah doesn't have 5 #1 songs that are recognizable by anyone, in fact she has a couple that nobody has ever heard of

This album era had eight official singles. SIX went #1 and ALL EIGHT were Top 3 hits! There will never be another era like this again. If you’re gonna count Taylor’s, give Katy her rightfully deserved 6 total #1s from Teenage Dream @billboard
Billboard is facing criticism after allowing Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” to count toward The Life of a Showgirl’s total of #1 hits, despite the song being released on the album’s deluxe edition, while NOT allowing Katy Perry’s “Part of Me” to count toward Teenage Dream’s total despite also being released as part of its deluxe edition.
Both songs debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The difference between artists like Katy Perry and Rihanna compared to Taylor Swift is that their No. 1 hits weren’t just chart toppers, they were actual cultural hits that everyone knew. Taylor’s hits are mostly only known by her fans..

Taylor’s legacy will be that she HAS these achievements, while others EARNED these achievements

I miss when being a hit meant having actual cultural impact, not just having a massive fanbase capable of pushing a song to #1
All of Taylor Swift’s #1 hits on the Hot 100:
We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
Shake It Off
Blank Space
Bad Blood
Look What You Made Me Do
cardigan
willow
All Too Well (Taylor’s Version/10 Minute)
Anti-Hero
Cruel Summer
Is It Over Now?
Fortnight
The Fate of Ophelia
Opalite
I Knew It, I Knew You
Patient Zero
The most for any artist in the 21st century.
It doesn't matter whether you stan Katy or not. We have to hold @billboard accountable for this shit. It's never too late to give Teenage Dream that recognition
In 2012, one week after “Part Of Me” was released, @billboard changed its rules, preventing Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” from scoring 6 #1s.
In 2026, Billboard claims “The Life Of A Showgirl: The Encore” became the album with the most Top 5 songs, despite being a deluxe.

@billboard explain right now why Part of Me can't count as the 6th number-one song from Teenage Dream but the Encore songs count as top 10s for The Life of a Showgirl 💀 it's time to admit Katy broke MJ record.

back then when a song debuts at #1 you know it's a certified hit... billboard charts used to mean something
Boycott BILLBOARD. ❌💀
Cancel BILLBOARD. ❌ 💀
U know that I hate Katy Cats, but this is OBVIOUS unfair. It happened to them today, it ll happen to us tommorow. Billboard is unfair and has to pay the price for it.

They didn’t count “Part Of Me” a deluxe single as part of the “Teenage Dream” Album
Taylor Swift’s deluxe album has now the most top 5 songs ever despite being a deluxe (9)
