The Auburn Islamic Center submitted its architectural and engineering plans to the City of Auburn in December 2025, and the city's Development Review Team approved them on June 12, 2026. The proposed site is a 5-acre property at 740 Mill Creek Road, south of I-85.

November 4, 2008 - Arguably the biggest night in US Political history.
November 3, 2026 - One of the biggest one-sided nights in US political history.
The common denominator? The Buffalo Bulls beat Miami (OH) on Tuesday night MACtion both nights.

As someone born and raised in Alabama, Iām so tired of people taking every awful political development here as an opportunity to call everyone who lives here stupid or inbred.
More than a quarter of Alabamaās population is Black. The majority of Black Americans live in the South. These are communities that have spent generations fighting the systems people are now using as an excuse to mock them.
There are teachers trying their hardest for their students, organizers fighting for voting rights, queer people fighting for their safety, and working families who canāt just pack up and leave. They live with the consequences of these politics every day, then get told by people outside the South that they deserve it.
And if your concern is education, mocking people for being failed by their schools does absolutely nothing to help them or the teachers trying to change that.
Be angry at the politicians. Hold the people supporting these policies accountable. But calling an entire state stupid lumps the people fighting back in with the people making their lives hell.
Being outnumbered doesnāt mean people arenāt fighting. They deserve your support even when they lose.

Allison Montgomery, a trans woman running for state house in a seat in the Huntsville suburbs, just beat her Republican opponent, who won by 16 points in 2022, while campaigning like this.

Alabamians, your vote matters. In 2022, the governorās race ended 67%-29%. Gap closed. Tonight showed how much can change. Look at Georgia. Look at Texas. Progress takes time but it happens when people show up. Your voice, vote & action matter. Keep showing up. Keep the fight.

Tonight Alabama voters replaced a Republican in the Alabama State House with a Democrat whoās also a trans woman. The tsunami might not reach the governorās mansion, but it touched Alabama.
In 1860, an enslaved man named Sheppard Peek was listed among the possessions of William Peek. His value was placed at $1,400. More than a century and a half later, Sheppardās great-great-granddaughter was elected governor of Georgia.
