It's tough being an insect. To make matters worse, a legal quirk leaves officials in at least a dozen states with little or no authority to protect insects, since they are not considered wildlife. Now, that's creating a growing problem for humans, too. nyti.ms/3SP30za

Not well-known in many parts of the U.S., candlepin bowling is mostly found in New England and nearby parts of Canada. The aging alleys are now held together with "duct tape and bubble gum." n.pr/3je4QfL
