There are a lot of videos out there about the Pentagon on 9/11. This is the one I keep coming back to. It covers the last few seconds. The final approach of American Airlines Flight 77, a Boeing 757, into the west wall of the Pentagon at 9:37:46 a.m. at roughly 530 mph. 184 people were murdered. 59 passengers and crew aboard Flight 77, and 125 people inside the building. What makes this video different is the structure. It runs the animation, and every time something happens along that flight path, it stops and cuts to a photograph of the actual thing. Animation says it clipped a light pole. Cut to the light pole, down in the road. Says it hit a taxi. Cut to the taxi. Says it took out a generator on the way in. Cut to the generator. Over and over, all the way down the approach to the facade. Five light poles sheared off in a line, each one photographed where it fell. Then it closes with a compilation of the aircraft debris recovered from the scene. That's the whole ballgame. Every step is a falsifiable claim with a picture attached. It isn't a model asking for your trust. It's a model you can check. And the photographs aren't the whole case. The flight data recorder was recovered and read completely. Speed, altitude, heading, control inputs, all the way to impact. That's what the NTSB used to reconstruct the approach, so the line you're watching in the animation isn't an artist's guess. The cockpit voice recorder was also recovered, but fire destroyed the recording. I'll say that plainly, because it's true and because someone will throw it at me. One box gave us everything. The other gave us nothing. Remains were recovered and identified by DNA. All but five of the people who died at the Pentagon were identified. Separately, five sets of remains matched no victim and no family reference sample. Those were the hijackers. Landing gear. Engine components. Fuselage with airline markings. Passengers' personal effects. All of it came out of that building. So here is my challenge to anyone who wants to tell me it was a missile. One. Explain the eyewitnesses. Over a hundred recorded accounts of a large commercial jetliner coming in low and fast, many of them naming American Airlines. Two. Explain the C-130. Reagan controllers asked an Air National Guard C-130H that had just departed to identify the unknown aircraft. The pilot spotted it, identified it as a Boeing 757, tried to follow it, and then radioed Washington Tower that it had crashed into the Pentagon. A military pilot in the air, looking directly at it. Three. Explain the five light poles. A missile does not shear off a line of poles across hundreds of feet on its way in. Four. Explain the two flight recorders pulled from the impact site, and explain the data on one of them. Missiles do not carry black boxes. And that recorder's speed, altitude, heading and control inputs match the primary radar track Dulles controllers were watching at 9:32. Two independent systems, one airborne and one on the ground, no shared hardware, same flight path. Five. Identify the missile. Type. Launch platform. Where it came from. Who put it there. Six. Tell me where Flight 77 went. Tell me where the 59 passengers and crew went. Real aircraft, real tail number, real people who boarded at Dulles that morning and had funerals. Where did they go? Twenty five years. Still waiting on number six. Watch the video. Video credit: Mike J. Wilson, "911 Case Study: Pentagon Flight 77

This is sooo poignant. Younger people who didn't experience this day and those that deny or reject the tragedy of this day should have to watch this. The other video to watch is the one with the firefighters stationed at the base hearing the jumpers reach the bottom. nitter.cf/ACTBrigitte/status/209… Words can't express.
I will never forget the first jumpers being shown on tv because they thought they were debris. I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since 9/11.

This is some of the most immediate and closest footage I’ve seen from after the North Tower collapsed. The unidentified cameraman enters from Broadway and Maiden Lane, then works his way down toward Church and Cortlandt, essentially reaching the area that had been the entrances around WTC 4 and 5. Without the towers and familiar landmarks, it is almost impossible to orient yourself. What stands out is how little organization there is yet. Almost no first responders. No real perimeter. No one pushing people back. The few people who are there are mostly just standing around, trying to process what had happened over the previous 102 minutes. The South Tower collapse had already devastated the area. But when the North Tower came down, it took the destruction to another level, flattening and burying several blocks around the complex.

(Part 2) Steve Grogan’s son casually uploaded a YouTube video with the title “September 12, 2001” with a description of “A quick video my father filmed” The footage is incredible and detailed. It appears to be a shopping mall attached to, and above, the WTC complex. As they are walking through you can see burst water pipes coming from above, abandoned retail stores covered in a foot of debris, and an elevated shot of “the pile” that was being combed through by thousands of rescue workers.

I made a comment earlier that to me, the new Jules Naudet high-definition footage from 9/11 shows Bill Biggart in some of the final moments of his life. Several people have asked me for follow ups and what exactly I meant, so I wanted to break this down further. For context, and as you’ll see in this footage, Battalion Chief Joseph Pfeifer, his crew, and Jules Naudet (French documentary maker) just survived the collapse of the South Tower by escaping through the command post in the North Tower, over the pedestrian bridge crossing the west side highway, and into the world financial center. After emerging from the world financial center, they take a look at the Marriott hotel that is now sliced in half, and begin putting the pieces of the puzzle together - the South Tower fell - they somehow survived. A new command post is now set up on West and Vesey street to the northwest corner of the north tower, beside the Verizon building. As they walk to the new command post; they pass an NYPD response truck, and a gentleman - dressed in all light colors, is collecting himself, dusting himself off, and seeking refuge from the south tower collapse that he just survived. Go to 2:32 mark in the video where this begins. The high definition video shows a clear visual of a man, who to me is Bill Biggart, who was known to be in this area given the last photos of his life that was collected from his camera that was found in the rubble. It appears he has a strap (camera ?) with him, some black piece of clothing near his face (a hoody?), and matches the general clothing and stature of Bill Biggart. Now I’m not sure if this has already been a circulated theory. I haven’t seen anything. I’m just passing along my observations and reasonings, but I am happy and eager to learn more on this. Rest in Peace Bill Biggart, and condolences to his family. His last photos provide a rare visual glimpse at the base of the north tower moments before the end.

Jack Taliercio rarely gives interviews. He’s known for some of the most unnerving footage from 9/11, where he enters the plaza, you can hear the music still playing, see a glimpse of the horrors of Liberty Street, and of course hear and briefly see the unidentified man who was with him. Other than a brief mention in 2002, Jack has barely discussed what happened. Until now. In this sitdown, he goes into detail. A man approached him, a little short man in a blue windbreaker with a clipboard in his hand. “Hey, you wanna get in there?”- Jack says it while mimicking the man in an almost perfect accent. Jack ended up following this man down Church Street, ignoring the commands being given around them, walking right through the doors of WTC 4, past the staircase and security desk, and out the back of the building into the plaza. He suddenly found himself right at the base of the South Tower. His footage from there is one of a kind. The music playing in the plaza made the whole experience feel beyond surreal to Jack. Cars were on fire on Liberty Street. Two people emerged from the South Tower and looked up in shock. Firefighters hugged the wall of the tower, trying to avoid falling debris. Jack says he never felt comfortable, he had an uneasy feeling the entire time. And the unidentified man kept chattering in his ear. Jack describes it as almost feeling like the man was using him for some kind of objective he had. He still does not know what the man’s role was or what he was looking for. At one point, the man tells him: “Come on, let’s get out there. Let’s get out there together. We might find a hand or something!” Incredible new detail from a man who rarely gives interviews, about the unidentified man with the clipboard who accompanied him through some of the most remarkable footage from 9/11. And more than 25 years later, we still do not know who that man was. Full sitdown: nationalgeographic.com/9-11-…
A few things stand out about Jack Taliercio’s footage from 9/11 1) The unidentified man. Jack is accompanied by a man through much of his footage, you can hear him and also see him briefly in a reflection. “This is worse than the Hindenburg (disaster) today. The more photos you get, the more they’ll live forever”. I think he was purposely not identified. Some said he was insensitive in some things he said throughout the footage (not included here). Did he survive? Why was he there and what was his story? We will never know .. 2) Jack gets as close as you could possibly be. He enters the plaza, and hugs wtc4 as he pans up the south tower. There was really only a brief time that you could have captured this type of footage and escape with your life. There is currently no other video out there with this perspective. 3) The plaza music. It’s so chilling. It’s as if everything is normal and there isn’t a tragedy unfolding.

Earlier in the footage, the three friends from Argentina can be seen scootering around the World Trade Center plaza, with WTC 4, WTC 5, and the Millennium Hotel in the background. They eventually make their way to the base of the South Tower, enter at plaza level, and of course scooter right up to the observation deck ticket window. $13.50 for a ride to the top. They joke about how expensive it is, pull out all the cash they have, and count it up to make sure they can cover the tickets. Vintage videos like this are awesome to look back on. Just ordinary people having a great day at a place that would soon be gone.
Some are saying this video feels like you’ve traveled back in time. To a simpler time. I would agree. Three friends from Argentina visiting the Twin Towers in June 2001, just three months before 9/11. They’re having a blast, making friends on the observation deck, taking in the views, and even riding scooters around the rooftop more than 1,000 feet above Manhattan. Times were just more carefree back then.

The POPS you hear in this video ar the jumpers. North Tower lobby. September 11, 2001. Clock running. 9:00 to 9:10. FDNY staging in the marble. Radios. Chiefs. Civilians still moving. Then the South Tower gets hit — and through the lobby windows you see the debris fall. Jules Naudet’s camera. Real time. No narration needed. Never forget what that morning actually looked like from inside. Watch part 3: Credit: Jules/Gédéon Naudet / Goldfish Pictures documentary *9/11* (2002)

This grainy footage filmed on an old pocket device is widely considered to be the only footage filmed in the south tower, showing what it actually looked like for evacuees. You can see he pauses and films towards Liberty street, which I would say is the most haunting street out of any of the perimeters. He then goes through the south tower lobby and towards the escalators leading down towards the underground mall. Very real and some would say rare footage of 9/11.

Here's a video I think very few people have seen. It reveals something fascinating. The strip in the middle is frozen just before impact. Everything above and below it is live. Watch the South Tower's edge slide back and forth against it. That's roughly 22 inches of sway at the roof, per NIST, and it stayed up. That's a credit to the people who designed it. They planned for a Boeing 707. What hit it was a bigger, heavier 767 doing roughly 545 mph. NIST measured the sway from impact video and found the building's rhythm barely changed, meaning the hit didn't appreciably affect its overall stiffness. So it wasn't the impact that brought the towers down. And it certainly wasn't nonexistent explosives. It was the fire. The crash stripped fireproofing off the steel, the fires weakened it, sagging floors pulled the outer columns inward until they buckled, and then thousands of tons of building came down on floors that were never built to stop it. The South Tower fell 56 minutes after this clip.
