Wtf? How does one compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop has access to move billions? Imagine having billions of dollars in crypto secured by an entire team, sophisticated infrastructure and multiple security layers, only for a compromised employee laptop to become the entry point. This is the part of the whole Binance incident I can’t get over. We talk so much about smart contract exploits and private key compromises, but sometimes the weakest link is a computer someone takes home after work. And apparently, you don’t even need to steal the keys if you can get the system to sign transactions for you. Damn!
Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified. The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far. Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete. As an immediate precaution, Binance has: - temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed; - revoked the affected address authorisation; - engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds. Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice. Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions. binance.com/en/support/annou…

I was three tasks into the education track when I stopped clicking. The quiz question asked why a 2x BTC product loses value even when Bitcoin goes up over six months. I already knew the answer. Volatility drag compounds against the holder through daily resets. But reading it framed that way made me close the leveraged ETF I had been holding for three weeks. That is when I realized this was not a quest list. It was a curriculum disguised as a points program. Most programs hand you a checklist. Click here. Retweet this. Tag three friends. This one hands you volatility math and asks you to explain it back. The @2FactorFinance program runs on Marks. They come from verified actions only. Social posts, education tasks, and referrals. No purchase, deposit, or holding earns a single Mark. When the leaderboard freezes at launch, the top 10 split 1 BTC, paid in cbBTC. Fixed curve. 18.2 percent at rank 1 down to 1.8 percent at rank 10. Marks carry no cash value. They cannot be transferred. They are not a claim on any token. The quests force you to articulate the mechanics. You have to explain why 2Factor splits exposure into two sides. A protected senior side. And a leveraged junior side with no liquidation risk and no external hedging counterparty. Kelly-optimized sizing gives each asset its own multiple. About 1.33x for cbBTC because Bitcoin volatility near 60 percent closes the productive band early. Equities near 16 to 19 percent stretch it well past 3x. The protocol is live on Base, built alongside Coinbase tokenized stocks. Bitcoin is the proving ground. Equities are where the band widens. The leaderboard is a trojan horse for risk management. My referral link: points.2factor.finance/r/ziz… So what specific line in a protocol's docs made you close a position you thought was safe?

was wondering how anyone actually gets a Credit Line on chain without dumping their whole Bank Statement or Income History for everyone to see. with @primus_labs they use zkTLS so you can prove specific bits of off chain Data, like income or assets, actually came from the real source... the proof shows the numbers check out but the raw page or full details stay private. then that gets turned into a usable Credit Position. i opened the Trusted Credit section and expected some long form or Auditor step. saw a bit more on how the proofs work here s.kaito.ai/D0q7W5c... instead it just lists the Data Types you can verify and keeps the sensitive parts hidden. the output is basically a private Credit Score you can use without showing the inputs. the part that still feels unclear is what happens if the source site changes its layout after you made the Template... does @primus_labs force a full re proof or can the old one still work for a while?

Ambience loops are hard because one odd element ruins them. The new SFX model gave me a forest at night with crickets and a far stream, nothing jumping out.

Big scenes rarely come down to one sound, so we built SFX v3 to handle more than ever. Our latest model lets you create richer, more precise sound effects from a single text prompt, with improved music and vocals. Now available inside @ElevenCreative and ElevenAPI.
