I’d like to apologise to Aston Villa, the owners & their fans.
My language this week was clumsy & wrong.
I can assure Villa fans it was tongue in cheek but I can understand it’s not come across that way, so apologies.
Good luck today UTV!

👊🤝 Our meeting place for the Saturday away day in Altrincham is as follows:
Costello's Bar,
18 Goose Green,
Altrincham,
WA14 1DW.
It's a 3pm kick off so some of us will arrive earlier to begin the process of soaking up the atmosphere (those who went last season will get that joke).
Join us, all are welcome, not just Branch members.

A £10bn injection to cut fuel duty in the budget could have reduced petrol and diesel prices by 21p a litre for 12 months, reduced inflation and stimulated economic growth in the UK.
But the Government sent it to Zelensky instead, who is reported to be ‘delighted’ to receive our money.

We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Calum McIntyre as our new manager.
Calum is no stranger to Haig Avenue having been in the Chester dugout on a few occasions in the past. He was appointed Chester Manager in May 2022, and he lead them to two National League North play offs also recording the club’s highest points totals in over a decade. They reached the 2024/25 Play-Off Final. He also guided the club to the FA Cup First Round Proper twice and set a club record of 23 away league games unbeaten.
He was named National League North Manager of the Year in 2023 and received three Manager of the Month awards in his spell at Chester.
Calum left Chester in February 2026 with his contract due to end at the end of the 2025/26 season having spent 14 years at the club starting out as a junior coach back in 2011. He started out in management at Runcorn Linnets at the age of just 26 enjoying a successful time at the club in a two year spell.
At just 33 years old Calum will be one of the youngest managers to have stepped into the Haig Avenue hot seat.
We all wish him every success in the role as he looks to guide the club up the table.
Welcome to Southport Calum.

My first ever @officialcufc game, down from Renfrewshire for the beer festival tomorrow. Took in the game tonight against Harrogate. I’ll never forget this game or likely see another close to it. 9 men Carlisle win 3-0. A magnificent performance.
