It really would have been nice if everyone in LA and California had been “closely monitoring” the Lachman Fire, the empty reservoir, and the high wind warnings that burned entire towns down here in the city. You know, instead of going out of town.
We are closely monitoring for any threats to Los Angeles’ public safety amid military action in the Middle East.
While there are no known credible threats at this time, LAPD has stepped up patrols near places of worship, community spaces, and other areas of the city, and we will remain vigilant in protecting our city.
We understand that many Angelenos are affected and deeply concerned, and encourage everyone to voice their views in a peaceful way.

Hey Amjad — I was part of Windsurf’s core infra crew (last one out the door, literally powering down the final GPU cluster). While the headlines moved on, the hard problems didn’t:
• Shipped the custom CUDA kernels that cut model-inference latency 38 %.
• Built the zero-downtime migration from K8s to Replit-style firecracker micro-VMs (same stack you scale to 20 M repls).
• Authored the internal red-team harness that caught the prompt-injection bug the acquirer still hasn’t patched.
I’m not looking for a soft landing; I’m looking for a bigger canvas. Replit’s mission to turn “write code anywhere” into “ship anything instantly” is the exact next chapter for the tooling I already have half-written.
