There is, quite simply, no-one more deserving than @blberger to receive this University-wide award for excellence in graduate teaching and supervision. ‘Excellence’ is an understatement! yfile.news.yorku.ca/2024/04/…

Replying to @YorkUPresident @YorkUniversity
Huge thanks to our staff, who really do so much to keep our community thriving! @YorkUPresident, in terms of living our values, how is York responding to the plea from experts for indoor masking? Will York help protect “a better future” for our children? thestar.com/amp/news/canada/…

Like anything related to women’s health, let’s get away from paternalistic guidelines and focus on “decision-making by women, guided by accurate information from health-care providers”.

Very hopeful that @yorkuniversity @YorkUPresident will show similarly reasonable, science-informed leadership wrt a masking mandate. This is what a research institution is for: to follow the knowledge (not just government policy). We should prioritize care for the vulnerable.
#WesternU will require students and employees to be vaccinated with at least one booster, and wear masks in instructional spaces this fall. Read more about how we’re protecting in-person learning and our vibrant campus experience. news.westernu.ca/2022/08/wes…

What is a #ClimateEmergency Declaration? Are they doing anything? How do they expose simplistic assumptions about how emergencies are governed in law? If you’re interested in #climatechange, emergencies and law, check out my new article @TELjournal: cambridge.org/core/journals/…

The government anticipated that, by removing pandemic precautions when 1 million+ children were still unvaccinated, there would be an increase in hospitalizations. I have no words. My heart goes out to the families of the 91 Ontario kids and teens who are hospitalized right now💔

Society has left my toddler behind. He can't exercise 'personal choice' to get a vax that isn't available. He can't 'choose' to wear a respirator. We're told re/infection is no biggie. Have these ppl read the science? It's a horror show of brain damage & vascular dysfunction.

The @cantaskforce is recommending against screening women 40-49, largely based on the CNBSS-1 study, now proven to be invalid. Women in provinces/territories that don’t screen 40-49 in organized programs need all this information so they can advocate for themselves. 7/9

Heartening to see a research institution following the data, rather than the government. Kudos, @BrockUniversity. This is true care for your community. Let’s show similar academic and public leadership @YorkUnews @YorkUPresident brocku.ca/brock-news/2022/03…
