What a terribly uninformed historical take.
The Terror, the Commune? The July and February Revolutions? The June rebellion? The winegrowers revolt? In France, there have been insurrections, barricades, riots and people taking to the streets for centuries. /1
In February 1920, there was a major national strike by railway workers for 29 days. And France’s own national archives report this as being ‘harshly repressed’. n.B. the strike was because the railway workers wanted access to sinks to wash their hands at the end of the day. /3
I could say more, but this is pure instrumentalisation of distorted perceptions of France being used to further American partisan political goals.
