I know every man and his dog has a podcast now, but in my defence, I’ve been working on this for a while.
It was during lockdown I had the idea to chronicle the 40 classic cars my Dad has owned over his 50+ years of motoring
The Drive of My Life is about so much more than cars!

Devolution is growing out!
The government is now in the final stages of agreeing 10 new devolution agreements:
Mayoral Strategic Authorities for Devon, Plymouth and Torbay; Hertfordshire; Lancashire; Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland; Stoke and Staffordshire; Surrey; Thames Valley (Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Swindon); and Wessex.
A Strategic Authority for Kent and Medway which will be Mayoral if the area’s Local Government Reorganisation outcome is compatible with this and Foundation if not.
This adds to Cheshire and Warrington; Cumbria; Sussex and Brighton; Hampshire and Solent; Essex and Norfolk and Suffolk.
And a single Foundation Strategic Authority for Cornwall.
Well done to all the local leaders and MPs, businesses and partners who have made the case and done the hard work on the ground!

Great to be on the 20th anniversary show of ITV Meridian The Last Word tonight with some old muckers from the 1997 intake of MPs Angela (now Baroness) Smith, Norman Baker and the legend that is the original presenter Phil Hornby, looking younger than ever unlike us!
Fantastic to catch up with ITV Meridian legend @PhilHornby53 to discuss how politics has changed - and how it hasn’t - over the past two decades.
It’s all to mark the 20th birthday of our political programme, The Last Word 🎈
Inside Reform: Councillors and candidates' extreme and racist views on camera
itv.com/news/2026-10-14/insi…
Warning: Distressing and graphic language
An undercover investigation by ITV Exposure into Nigel Farage’s Reform UK has found multiple elected councillors and party candidates expressing racist views and using offensive language.
ITV has obtained secretly recorded footage showing Reform officials from across England and Wales using violent, racist and sexist language.
Councillors Alan Feeney, Chris Whelan and Jamie Campbell did not reply to our request for comment. Councillors Feeney and Whelan have since resigned from Reform UK.
In a statement shared with ITV News, Reform UK said: "Where members, activists and councillors have clearly behaved inappropriately, investigations have commenced. In some cases, there have been suspensions and due process must be followed."
"Reform UK has improved and prioritised its vetting procedures, but from time to time, a handful of individuals who do not share our values will initially make it through vetting. This is the same for all organisations."
NEW: Lib Dem MP Clive Jones says colleagues questioning the future Sir Ed Davey as leader are "wrong" and could create "chaos in the party".
The Wokingham MP tells me they'd be "absolutely stupid" to change leader and that Sir Ed's opponents should "forget it".

EXC: Kemi Badenoch claims Margaret Thatcher’s privatisation of England's water sector has been ‘a success’.
The Conservative leader was responding to Andy Burnham's announcement that he would end the ban on public ownership of water companies.
@itvmeridian
Responding to my interview, Environment Secretary Dame Angela Eagle said:
“Kemi Badenoch is living in an alternate reality. How anybody can look at the Tory record on water and call it a success is baffling.”
