Vibing in the discontinuous singularity. One of those fuck-arounder and find-outers. Opinions are my own and do not express those of non-canonical dimensions.

After every vacation, you need a vacation from that vacation. After every reset, you need a reset from that reset.

It's getting about time to commit to a universe re-read.

I've been hacking on this little personal ~CRM for a few weeks now, and it's giving me so much nostalgia for when I was building stuff just to build back in the early 2000s and kind of blowing me away. Where do I even begin? It's a web app and native iOS app. It uses my local LLMs to keep all my information private. It connects iCloud contacts, four different gmail accounts/calendars, and all my old email archives. It would be a foolishly ambitious project just two years ago, no way to justify the value it brings. But now I have it. It looks great. It's useful (to me!). But mostly it's just fun to hack on. It's this little pile of silly putty that I can poke and shape into whatever I want it to be on a whim. Both the apps automatically deploy and monitor themselves. It's deployed to my local server and auth'd with my Tailscale connection, no login screens. I wake up to bug fixes and refinements as it monitors the logs overnight. It writes it's own dev blog, updates it's roadmap, and has a status board for what it's working on. All of this from… a few sentences in AGENTS.md and a Claude Code session (via ssh target to an always-on mac). No fancy software factory, sorry. Just HTML. The levels of future I'm experiencing right now are just wildly out of control.

Grandpa's woodshop is going to look really fucking weird in a couple of years.

You can just ask your models to keep a dev blog for your project with screenshots and everything.

The most unexpected part of You Can See Everything for me was realizing Elizabeth Holmes is actually a minor character in… whatever incredible thing that whole movie was.

It is absolutely crazy that it's been almost a year since I have had to fight any bugs, broken environments, or figure out why a piece of software refuses to do a thing it claims to do. Shit just works now.

Silly place to put a house, but at least it does have a moat.

American exceptionalism needs a comeback. But let’s design more houses built into cliffs and less masters of digital gods, please.

I have a feeling there’s a low chance of normal people building & running bespoke software with AIs, but I do think the few of us who do will be doing so for our friends.

None of you were webmasters in ‘97 and it shows.

Giving in to LLMs programming my home assistant and custom dashboard has opened up some wild future of home automation. Like "Add a button to the lights screen that dims the kitchen lights to the rest of the house" and… it just does everything and there's a new button! No fancy setup. Just a folder with a token in .env.

What a weirdly uncomfortable Tony Hawk level.
