npanel now embeds a full JavaScript runtime (QuickJS) allowing individual nsites to render their own dynamic link previews to crawlers. nsites serve /.well-known/npanel/preview.js which takes a Request object and renders an og-image, title, etc.
I took a stab at improving the performance of Elixir. I used the PR for Elixir that @ZachSDaniel1 posted and worked some more on it. In the benchmark Elixir is now faster than Rust (ccece30 newest commit) for the Sidebar and Search benchmark.
Last conversion of the Campfire from my token stash goes to JavaScript/Express. As with the others, I'm sure you can find more to optimize. But this gives you a sense of what order of magnitude these options exist within with agent-led development. github.com/basecamp/once-cam…

I'm voting straight ticket Republican for the midterms.
I'm not a Republican, and there are things I do not like about the state of the party. But we are at a place where my alternative is to allow Communists to gain power. I would sup with devils far worse than Donald Trump has ever been to prevent that.

America became an industrial superpower because we were argumentative, competitive, inventive, impatient, and extraordinarily difficult people.
The answer is not to make Americans less adversarial.
The answer is to rebuild a culture where brutal criticism produces better products instead of hurt feelings, legal threats, and PR statements.
Because if American manufacturing startups cannot learn to hear, “This is broken” without treating it as a personal attack, China will happily keep building the things we are too emotionally fragile to fix.
P.S. After the VFW session with Larry what did grandpa usually do next? He spent some time in his machine shop working on improving something for his small business.

Shortly after JCD had passed, I realized that he had been at Cal at the same time as my uncle. The revelation of John’s true age put him ~two years older.
My uncle passed a few years ago, but I visited my aunt this weekend and was able to look at the 1965 UC Berkeley yearbook. There’s our man, peddling humor and satire as always. #itm #ripjcd
Tagging @johnsdvorak for posterity. “Social consciousness is a necessity for satire.”

my dad just told me he chose to act rudely to someone and on analysis he was actually rude but only in an incredibly based way. I felt humbled.

most people filter their understanding of the world through a man with a pedicure (CNN anchor) and this seems kind of like an epistemical horror

I'm having way too much fun with @OmarchyLinux 🤯
My power bill is about to go through the roof.
Now I need another RTX 3090 for NVLink. If you've got one at a reasonable price, DM me or reply here.

Have you ever watched a TV show and wondered, "What's going on just below the frame?" For all we know, the actors aren't even wearing pants.
Thanks to AI, we no longer have to wonder.

Yeah, when you don't have any metaphysics, you are going to be confused by the difference between things that are clearly very different.

I reiterate my proposal for a fleet of private boarding schools that are just tall ships, and the boys' school year consists of harrowing voyages around the globe learning music, classical literature, mathematics, astronomy, and navigation along the way.
