The next wave of African fintech won’t be purely decentralized. And that’s the point. Hybrid products are the real opportunity nobody is talking about. They sit at the intersection of traditional rails and decentralized infrastructure. Familiar enough for the user. Fast enough for the business. Compliant enough for the regulator. Here’s the hard truth though, compliance in Africa is not one thing. It’s 54 different things. What satisfies a regulator in Lagos won’t satisfy one in Nairobi. What’s permitted in Ghana today might be restricted tomorrow. I’ve watched promising projects die not because the product was bad, but because they built first and asked the compliance question last. Compliance is not the enemy of innovation. It’s the floor that makes innovation sustainable. Are you building pure DeFi, hybrid, or have you pivoted after hitting a compliance wall? The real story, not the pitch deck version.

What happens when a company discovers a security vulnerability? 🔐 There’s a process behind every security fix, and it’s called the Vulnerability Management Lifecycle. In this video, I break down the 5 key stages: Discover, Prioritise, Assess, Report, Fix & Verify. If you’re building software, security shouldn’t be an afterthought.

That moment Nathaniel Bassey called his wife “Babe” and the crowd couldn’t help but go “Awwwn!” 🥹❤️😂 And did anyone else notice Apostle Selman’s reaction? 😂😁 Be honest, was it Nathaniel Bassey’s sweet moment with his wife or Apostle Selman’s reaction that got you smiling? 😂

On October 29th, Binance was hit by the biggest crypto hack on record, about $6.3 billion. Hackers didn't break the blockchain or crack any code. The first investigation pointed to one engineer's compromised laptop. It's a reminder that as a developer, you're not just writing code, you're holding people's trust. In this video, I share simple habits every engineer and builder should follow to protect their laptop, their keys, and the people who rely on their systems. Security isn't only your security team's job. It's yours too. So, what are your thoughts on the Binance hack? You can share with me in the comment section.

Binance has suspended withdrawals. Moral of the story: Never keep your life savings on a centralized platform.🫠

I feel so bad for that Binance developer. He or she has probably lost their job by now, or is at risk of losing it. 😭

The smartest AI doesn't check every possible path. It makes a good guess. In this video I explain heuristics in artificial intelligence and compare two important search algorithms: greedy search, which is fast but can take the wrong shortcut, and A-star search, which balances the distance already covered with what's left to find the best route. Good guesses make AI faster, and using them wisely makes it right. As a builder, where in your product are you relying on a guess?

A firewall alone won't keep you safe. Real security uses layers. In this video I explain the three types of security controls: technical controls like firewalls, antivirus and encryption; administrative controls like staff training, access policies and incident response plans; and physical controls like security guards, cameras and locked server rooms. The goal isn't more tools. It's making sure all three layers work together, because each one covers what the others miss. Which of these three layers do you think is usually the weakest?

If you are obsessed with money, you will always find yourself in trouble. Do not get me wrong; I am not saying you should not love money. After all, money answers all things. But when you become obsessed with it, you may find yourself willing to do anything to get it and keep it. That is when you begin to lose sight of your values and make decisions you might eventually regret. There is a difference between loving money and being controlled by it. Love money enough to work for it, save it, invest it, and grow it. But never let your desire for money become so strong that you lose yourself in the process of acquiring it.

In 1998, the world's standard encryption was cracked in just 56 hours. In this video I tell the story of DES, the encryption banks and governments trusted for over 20 years, how brute force attacks broke it, how Triple DES patched it, and why AES, the Advanced Encryption Standard with keys up to 256 bits, is the encryption standard today. Encryption isn't set and forget. It has to keep upgrading as computers get stronger. Are you sure the encryption on your computer is still strong enough?

Before AI solves any problem, it searches. In this video I break down three important search algorithms in artificial intelligence: breadth-first search, depth-first search, and A-star search. You'll see how each one finds a path, what it trades off in speed and memory, and how heuristics help A-star find the best route fast. It's the same idea behind how Google Maps gets you home, with machine learning on top to predict traffic. Which search algorithm would you use in your product?
