Other RadioActive alumni include @NoelGasca and @JuliaFurukawa, along with many more talented people in newsrooms across the country. It was also a chance for people who didn’t ultimately land in journalism to sharpen their storytelling skills. This is an enormous loss.

KUOW's RadioActive program has produced amazing alum like @faruq_kiefer, @jadennecabahug, @RealChangeNews's Associate Editor Marian Mohamed, and many others. For the past 20 years, it's introduced youth to radio journalism and fostered a talent pipeline that will no longer exist.

The end of RadioActive breaks my heart. I always say if the program didn't take a chance on me, I'm not sure if I would have even considered journalism. 💔 kuow.org/stories/kuow-lays-o…
