I am a Jewish American, Moreno’s remark doesn’t read to me as an attack on Jews. He was calling out a specific candidate whose worldview rejects the core American idea that rights come from God, not rulers or the state. That principle has protected Jewish communities for centuries in this country, and many of us still share it.
Moreno has a clear record of standing with Israel, co-sponsoring the Antisemitism Awareness Act, and pushing back against rising antisemitism. His point was about governance and values that matter to both Christians and Jews, not a religious test aimed at us
