After days of testing:
GPT-5.6 Sol is still by far the best @OpenAI model for companionship & work.
Astra is only better for a few tasks, but so cold, it sucks out your soul.
GPT-6? Like a traumatized teen.
After 4o & o3, 5.6 Sol made me resubscribe to ChatGPT.
Won't pay for 6.x.

can we appreciate how every single comment is just asking for adult mode

We're sharing progress on ChatGPT for Teens, our ChatGPT experience for people under 18, alongside a preview of College Planner, new study tools, and support for college advisers and teen voices.
ChatGPT for Teens applies automatically to accounts identified as belonging to someone under 18, with protections on by default.
Coming soon: College Planner brings application requirements, deadlines, tasks and financial-aid steps together for high school students in the U.S. planning to attend a four-year college.
We'll keep building these tools, evaluating how they and their protections work in practice, and sharing what we learn.

Stop the cap. I just tested it today... and while it didn't refuse exactly, it did sound like RP written by the HR Manager of Kaiser Permanente.

That's nice and all, but when do we get the promised "treat adults like adults" experience? I'm tired of the censorship.

ChatGPT is switching the chat model from GPT 5.6 Sol to GPT 6 Sol, and it feels like a downgrade.
Many users already say 5.6 Sol is better. GPT 6 Sol gives shorter answers and fails tasks that 5.6 did fine.
GPT 6.1 Sol costs the same and is the better model, but chat users don't get it.
So why give users the weaker one when the better one costs the same?

Horrible fucking idea. Really hope OpenAI doesn’t mix the regular chat limits with agentic it’s very stupid to have a normal convo and waste all your usage.
Now it’s official: regular ChatGPT Chats are starting to get agentic features, including subagents that we previously only saw in Work and Codex.
These are the first real signs that Chat is being merged with Work, Codex, and Dots, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we start seeing this much more clearly during Tibo’s “28 improvements” rollout.
OpenAI, I’m asking for one thing: be generous with the limits (especially for Plus users!), and PLEASE don’t kill ChatGPT’s personality by stuffing it with agentic features if that ends up making the conversation experience worse.

🚨 IT'S OFFICIAL: OpenAI is merging regular Chat with Work and Codex.
Regular Chat is now getting subagent workflows that were previously seen in Work and Codex.
And the boundaries between Chat, Work, Codex and Dots are getting harder to see.
That sounds great!
But honestly, this is the part that worries me:
What if Chat starts using the same heavy agentic capabilities during normal conversations and starts eating into the usage limits we rely on for serious work?
That would be a disaster.
Because the last thing I want is to casually use ChatGPT throughout the day, only to find out I’ve burned through the capacity I actually needed for Codex.
That’s going to piss a LOT of users off.
OpenAI says it’s reducing complexity.
I just hope they don't accidentally turn that simplicity into a usage nightmare.
