But subways fight congestion and there’s already a subway. So there should be no congestion to start with right?
So perhaps the subway needs something besides auto lanes to make the subway work better?
I take some comfort that perhaps the “support” is truly social media echo chamber / bot farms that have elevated these folks higher than they are in reality.
Online firebrands Daniel Tate and Caryma Sa'd have significant support online, but that did not translate into electoral wins on Monday night. torontotoday.ca:443/2026-mun…
The election results reinforce my belief that we ultimately want leaders - in all aspects of life - to be authentic. And consistently so.
In many condos in Toronto, the developer generally retains ownership of any public parking, meaning they get all the revenues in perpetuity and little responsibility.
Condo living can be more affordable if residents can use these revenues to offset monthly condo fees.
On my @PorterAirlines flight home last night, a passenger near me was scrolling through social media videos with sound on their phone speakers. I asked them if they had headphones and the person decided to respond with expletives, threats, and homophobic comments (1/3)
This was loud enough for nearby passengers to hear. I was nervous to raise the issue with the FAs to avoid further escalation. But it ended up being a very uncomfortable flight. (2/3)
If wifi is now a standard on all flights, could @porterairlines (and others) include in-flight announcements to remind passengers that headphones are mandatory?
Line 2 would have been better served on both ends by extending to meet with GO Lakeshore stations at Eglinton and at Long Branch (or Port Credit).
Mississauga downtown may be better served by an extension of Line 5 along the Transitway corridor.

This is the most relatable post.
Who *hasn’t* gotten annoyed when you’re taking photos out of a plane window, thinking you got the perfect shot, then your phone decides to autofocus on the window instead? 🤬
Also when you choose a window seat and the wing blocks your view? 😤

Please, for the love of god, stop using AI to create flyers, especially if you’re a butcher. This is the worst I’ve seen yet. I’ve blurred the first image, beware.

The subway is already happening. That’s no longer a debate.
But now someone on the 133 Neilson can travel without a transfer at STC to Kennedy Station in the same amount of time as with Line 3. That is better than the status quo in 2021.
I would love #darkTO to come back right now for us to all enjoy the Perseids Meteor Shower peak during a new moon. Just saying.
This is big and is good. The question that remains: the Q400 that flies from YTZ is no longer manufactured and there’s no current successor in the market. What happens when these planes retire?

My theory on why our street festivals have become so large and riskier for public safety is that we have so few of them. They’re all “events” that draw larger crowds that have few outlets. Pedestrianization, more events that aren’t cost prohibitive, spreads the demand and energy.
We also have lost affordable places for people to socialize. Street festivals, when combined with plentiful access to cheaper alcohol, confusing messaging about drinking in street festivals, and lax enforcement of public intoxication are all contributing factors.
