21-year-old promising lady amateur jockey has suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury due to a freak accident on the gallops. Kaitlyn is currently receiving treatment for her injury and will be for the foreseeable future.
Kaitlyn will need to make many lifestyle changes to adapt to her new life to ensure her independence. Kaitlyn’s future is unknown and she faces a long journey ahead. We want to help Kaitlyn and her family through this challenging time.

In a fruit and veg shop that I visit regularly they sell two types of honey
This exact one here Healy Family honey for approx €5 euro and another local honey called Molloy Honey for approx €8
I asked , what is the difference between them?
I was told Healys is a blend of foreign Honey from God knows and Molloy Honey comes from Irish bees just down the road

As our mainstream media now seem to believe they are providing a news service by championing certain asylum seekers and visa applicants, reminder of the tale of the Okeyanmi family...
In February 2026, across mainstream media, especially Irish Times and RTE, and in the Dail, the case of the Okeyanmi family was promoted. The family, a mother with three children were allegedly South African whose asylum applications had been rejected and they were to be deported at vast cost because they refused to leave voluntarily with up to €10,000 in their back-pocket.
At the end of February, and despite the questions in the Dail, the protests, the mainstream media coverage, the Okeyanmi family were removed to South Africa at a cost of €40,000 for them alone in a flight with 59 others.
And that was the last we heard of the Okeyanmi family in Irish mainstream media or politics. But it wasn’t the end of their story. As soon as they arrived in Johannesburg, they were detained and deported to Nigeria within 72 hours. Because they allegedly had false documents, which leaves whatever story they told Irish authorities in tatters. We learned about this through questions in the South Africa parliament.
No Irish mainstream media reported this, no Irish politician talked about it.
Now as we move into Autumn, the same mainstream media is platforming more applicants, this time visa applicants whose applications have been turned down by the Department of Justice which operates a rules-based system to assess applications. Sure, you may be the victim of a mistaken rejection, but you can challenge decisions. But instead of that, they or their solicitors are taking their cases to the naive mainstream media again, when the correct place for any challenges is either with the Department or through the courts.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...

To put things in perspective: A single Irish company scammed the Irish state for more money in tax dodging than every “suspected” social welfare scammer combined last year. A single company.
Was listening to the bit about being caught "speeding" As usual with Ireland they screw you every way they can. No margin of error in speeding fines. In the UK it's 10%+ 3 or 5 over the speed limit.I think it might be 5 for 30 mph zones and 3 for higher zones. Not sure

And many many evasive answers and promises from government.
@CarrollJennifer since I know your team is watching, release those reports and allow this inquiry be the turning point in how these children are treated. Until they’re published, we cannot have meaningful engagement in this inquiry.
Choosing to turn a blind eye now after everything you have heard and seen makes you just as culpable if more children come to harm that could have been prevented.

A few points on the UCD case. Whatever happens with the appeal in relation to the woman continuing with the degree, and whether she is charged with any deception or fraud now the file has been sent to the DPP, these points remain.
1. This is a medical degree. It is not a genders studies degree or an English degree or a history of art degree. The integrity of medical degrees counts. This woman, if she graduates, will go on to treat vulnerable and sick, infants, the elderly, children and everyone in between. Our lives are in her hands. Therefore medical graduates, doctors, have to have completed their studies with integrity. It is dangerous to waive requirements of the degree and would be unsafe for the public, all of us who depend on the medical schools enforcing standards, for those standards to be waived.
2. Because of 1, it was entirely wrong and unfair for politicians such as Ruth Coppinger TD to imply using the parliamentary privilege that UCD had acted unfairly, either morally or legally in this case. UCD have a duty to the students, but they also have a duty to all future patients that their graduates, have actually done the work in a very competitive and highly sought after degree.
Jack Chambers TD, as a high ranking member of the cabinet was entirely wrong to insert himself in this case.
3. I think the media, especially Prime Time, were too quick to judge in this case. Surely extra scrutiny should be given to claim – especially one so serious – where anonymity is guaranteed. It’s just not good enough.
4. Further as noted by the judge in the first judgment, UCD must comply with regulations and with statutory requirements for international recognition. UCD medical degree is assessed, regulated and recognised by outside bodies. This is why so many doctors leave for the NHS or Australia. If the standards are compromised the entire integrity of the degree is compromised.
5. On any fair reading of the judgment, which is summaries in the Journal, UCD medical school made huge accommodations for this woman. But she cannot expect a bespoke medical degree.
6. The woman has never made a complaint of rape to the guards. She never made a complaint in relation to the image based abuse to the guards. The only body that made a complaint to the guards was UCD.
7. The decision on the academic regulations is reserved. The file on any possible criminal charged is sent to the DPP.
8. We trust the DPP will be impartial. Many other were not.

John McGuirk, Laura Perrins & Gript were described as "rape apologists" in March 2026 by certain no-marks, after Gript skeptically scrutinised a hard-to-find High Court ruling in which the UCD "rape victim" lost her legal case against the university and was facing €200,000 in costs.
Aspects of the case were utterly bizarre, especially the proposition the "rapist" himself emailed pictures of the victim to the university two years after the rape.
Gript did its job as a proper news media outlet, whilst RTE unquestioningly reported the "victim" side of the story, which no doubt spurred the protest at UCD and primed PBP S TD Ruth Coppinger to start what now looks like a moronic campaign.
Earlier this year, @LPerrins and I were the only two journalists in Ireland to point out that the UCD medical student rape case was riddled with inconsistencies, implausibilities, and transparent nonsense.
