I cried today. Grown men cry too, especially when it feels like someone has snatched away money that was coming their way from their honest hard work. I risked around $22–23K to make $3K. I genuinely believed it was a guaranteed win, if not for what I believe was manipulation. Instead, I ended up losing $29K, and all I could do was watch it disappear. To everyone who interacted with my post and helped bring attention to this, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It means a ton. I believe I’ll make this money back, but $29K is still a huge amount. What hurts most is feeling like someone could take it away simply because they had the power to do so. My suspicion is that someone with access to an ICE London commodities trading account accumulated $105 YES bets, then pushed the price up after NYMEX closed, when liquidity was ultra thin. I can’t prove that’s what happened. But I believe the timing and price action deserve a serious investigation.
