Fathers matter. Not as optional extras, interchangeable caregivers, or as secondary parents. Fathers bring something unique and irreplaceable to their daughters' lives.
In The Absent Father Effect on Daughters: Father Desire, Father Wounds, Jungian psychoanalyst Susan E. Schwartz explores the profound psychological consequences of growing up without an emotionally present father.
Her central insight is compelling: a father can be physically present yet psychologically absent. When fathers are distant, disengaged, rejecting, or missing altogether, daughters may carry wounds that shape their identity, self-worth, relationships, and understanding of love.
Drawing on Jungian psychology, clinical experience, mythology, and personal narratives, Schwartz examines how paternal absence can reverberate through a woman's life, sometimes long into adulthood.
But this isn't simply a book about what goes wrong. It's also about healing, self-discovery, and reclaiming psychological wholeness.
WHAT MAKES FATHERS SO IMPORTANT TO DAUGHTERS?
A loving, engaged father offers his daughter something profoundly valuable:
🔹 Unconditional love: Reinforcing that she is worthy of affection, dignity, and respect.
🔹 Confidence and courage: Encouraging her to explore, take risks, develop independence, and embrace challenges.
🔹 A positive masculine role model: Demonstrating how good men behave, including kindness, integrity, strength, and responsibility.
🔹 Healthy relationship expectations: Helping her recognise what respectful, trustworthy relationships with men look like.
🔹 Security and belonging: Providing another enduring source of emotional stability, protection, and encouragement.
Schwartz's book is primarily a psychoanalytic exploration, rather than a comprehensive empirical study. Some interpretations are necessarily subjective. Nevertheless, its central message deserves serious attention.
Mothers and fathers are equally valuable, but they are far from identical. Their contributions are complementary, distinctive, and deeply meaningful.
We shouldn't minimise the importance of involved, loving fathers.
We need a culture that celebrates fatherhood, encourages men to be present and engaged, and recognises the extraordinary contributions that fathers make to their daughters' development.
Every daughter deserves a father who loves her, believes in her, and shows up for her.

Since this paper (showing Nate SIlver couldn't tell the difference between noise and signal), prediction markets appear to have adapted to behave much more like martingales.
Meaning your prediction must be less volatile and closer to .5

The TOTAL DEMOLITION of the IPCC
Our latest peer-reviewed paper concludes that fossil carbon is a NEGLIGIBLE component of the net atmospheric CO₂ increase.
500 years of isotopic evidence.
Elementary mass conservation.
A devastating mathematical result.
BOMBSHELL
Fossil Fuels Did NOT Cause the CO2 Rise.
New peer-reviewed paper just dropped. 500 years of data. The verdict is in.
Fossil carbon's contribution to rising CO2:
effectively ZERO.
The entire IPCC/NASA/NOAA/EPA climate narrative rests on a claim that just got mathematically falsified.
Read it.
Share it.
The cover-up is over.

Qu’on publie chaque contrat.
