Regreening with #treecovery in just tree, eh three years. The first picture was taken during the rainy season (hence the green grass in between!), and the second was during the early dry season. All these trees are now 4 meters or even higher! With @leadtz 🌳

The Kisiki Hai, or “living stump,” technique helps farmers regenerate trees from root systems that are still in the soil.
That’s how 110,000 Tanzanian farmers have collectively regenerated over 5.2 million trees w/ @leadtz and @justdiggit. #AFR100 afr100.org/content/regreenin… – at Malawi

With @leadtz and local communities we restore and #regreen degraded landscapes by digging #earthsmiles, and the results have blown us away - from dry, dusty desert to green, expanding savannah. Can you imagine the effect these bunds can have over the next four?

Amazing work in Tanzania by our partners @leadtz - the view is at a slightly different angle, but you can clearly tell how much has grown between these two pictures from December 2019 and April 2022!

It can be tough or even impossible to plant seedlings in harsh, dry environments like Tanzania's Dodoma region. But thankfully, our partners @leadtz know just the right growing technique. In other words... life finds a way youtu.be/A7vY9z2QFMU

Monitoring trees in Tanzania with @leadtz 🌳
We use a combination of satellite imagery and photos sent by our partners to monitor tree-planting projects, but of course the best way to check up on the trees is to visit!

Spread the green! 🌱 Once the bunds have been dug, they will keep on regreening themselves. Even the surrounding area will become greener and more fertile. It only takes one year for the vegetation to spread out to its surroundings. These bunds were dug with @leadtz.
