How is the legend! @_charlesbrice 9 yrs ago he had a motorcycle accident that left him a quadriplegic. Amazingly we are riding together again only this time in Lycra! 300km to raise money for spinal cord research. (Please donate to this initiative!) 👇 wheel-to-walk.raisely.com/jo…

ZRS Spartacus barley. Different %'s of seed spread in front of the tynes. Total seed rate 60kg\ha. Sweet spot for cover seems to be around the 50% mark, will be interesting to see where the sweet spot for yield is in 2019.

Agtech question: Is there anyway to upload soil zone shape files directly into the JD Ops centre so I can create prescriptions in the cloud directly and consign Apex to the dustbin of history? #asktwitter @leighmuster @leighjbryan @phil_honey

This year's wheat variety trial. Sown into moisture on 9th May. 4 X 2ha reps. Vixen appears to be a bit more vigorous than Scepter. Illabo just there as a curiosity (later than ideal), and in case the other 2 get smashed by frost again.🤷🏼‍♂️

1 month later update.

750mm Gen090 chickpeas starting to look like a crop. Disc sown. Still thin where flutriafol (cockup) burnt the seeds, but nodulating happily enough.🤷🏼‍♂️

Pushing the limits of ZRS ratios here. Spartacus back on wheat stubble. Rhizo more of an issue for broadcast seed. There are reasons why we don't all seed with a spreader and prickle chain combo.

Zero row spaced Spartacus barley, then and now. 45kg through splitter boot an 25kg spread on inter-row. Filling in not too bad now.

Canola variety trial update. Stingray be like "Hybrid vigour hold my beer, I've got this".

16 days later and 580CT has grabbed 3rd gear, Stingray is still stuck in 2nd but about to hit redline and 4510TT is still dealing with some powertrain gremlins from the factory but soldiering on admirably.

Splitter boots... Are we really increasing crop comp and reducing weed seed set with them? The more it grows, the more I'm not so sure.🤷🏼‍♂️

Had 3 patches of ryegrass in this ZRS Spartacus barley paddock, bought 20lt of Boxer Gold to deal with it. 🤔 Always learning.

Just another observation, nothing too surprising, this time Sakura on crabhole country (heavier soil type), Scepter wheat. Same deal, just a patch out job IBS. Pics about 3m apart.

Phosphorus trial in Stingray canola. Not a lot going on yet. Expect a maturity difference at the yellow end of the season. Rates weren't corrected for N & S in MAP, also had 1% Zn in fert.

Why we VRA Nitrogen. Blue = High biomass crop (sandier soils) 50kg available N Red = Low Biomass (higher clay + boron) 126kg N Numbers are soil sample locations from 2 weeks ago & the corresponding available N results. Sand although looking the best requires more N than Clay.
