A lot of this has been going on, there are some strange practices in the market right now.
The apparent dismantling of Poundland, a Walsall-based business, is disgraceful
Why has a viable bid been rejected in favour of breaking up the business?
The owners must be called in to explain this. Poundland must be saved to protect thousands of jobs

The whole cadre of Actors within the @StarTrek universe, from @WilliamShatner to @NichelleIsUhura via @BrentSpiner and numerous others have brought great pleasure and positive messages to millions. My condolences to the families of @GineokwKoenig and @SirPatStew

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

So, this is quite strange, I wonder what I did to annoy Bill. Maybe a friend can ask him, as I clearly cannot.
Ah, the #irony of the newly nationalised @LNRailway reintroducing a class system; now I own it I can’t sit in the seat I usually use to work without paying more. You are having a laugh @Heidi_Labour, surely? Come on @GBRailways & @andyburnham sort this out. #epicfail
Interesting to hear @melanie_onn speak against @andyburnham & his honesty about our future re: #EU ‘Grimsby would not like it’ Well, we need more UK growth Mel, so we can continue to support all regions including yours and mine [eg North East Lincs deficit £4k/pers/yr(ONS, 2024)]

This must be a wind up: isn’t Gosport home to lots of people who just might want to wear a poppy to remember all of the fallen from conflicts?
Well @uhbtrust it took seven calls yesterday over 20m to different numbers before I finally got via the switchboard to dermatology (who were then brilliant). Today using the numbers on a letter and those below over 25 minutes trying there is no answer from pre-op again. 😬

Hi Mark, sorry to heart about the difficult you have faced getting through. If you try 01214245167 or 01214245143 you should be able to get through to a member of the team.
Best wishes, Luke
I don’t understand Matt Britten. @BBCTheArchers out of Bham. @paullewismoney binned as @MartinSLewis gets ever more popular. No more you and yours. What next?
How can the BBC invest in a headquarters in Digbeth, yet consider moving The Archers out of Brum?
When we secured that investment, losing shows was never part of the plan.
After 75 years, it is part of the WM's heritage. The BBC must reconsider.

You can't make people have a safety culture. Rules don't create it. Behaviour does, and what people see, hear, and get rewarded for shapes it. If that resonates, you're probably closer to a stronger culture than you think.
The sheer pointlessness of phoning @uhbtrust - been trying to get through to anyone in Solihull hospital pre-op for 15m. Phone extension just rings out and switchboard don’t have an email address…
A goat display in Bahrain - well done @LewisHamilton
Recent chimney shenanigans. Thought about my Twitter friend @davidgcant when taking this. He def would not approve. 🤣
Just had a new @IndesitUK washing machine delivered from @ao on behalf of @DandG_Global. The two delivery guys, Ansley and Chris, were thorough and quick. They are self employed (as is the modern way) but very good ambassadors for all three brands!
Huge mention to @Hoover_UK for the European made washing machine that lasted our family of four sixteen years, and only failed due to chassis rust rather than for any other reason. If only I had treated it with @Lanoguard !!
I should say, @Hoover_UK , that the tumble dryer is still going strong, and is maintained by under a @DandG_Global agreement (but to be clear it’s only ever needs one part in 16 years!)

@CornwallCouncil may we please have some 20mph repeater signs on Trewirgie Hill, Coach Lane, & West Trewirgie Road please? Drivers coming from Falmouth Toad use us as a cut through, and many assume it’s a 30 limit. Dangerous for the kids attending @Trewirgieinf @TrewirgieJnrs
