🚨💔Breaking: María de Miguel, wife of the late Jesús de Miguel, has released her second emotional statement following the tragic death of her husband during the match between FC Andorra and CD Tenerife. 😭 “I cannot forgive Owono. I believe he did it deliberately. Was my husband the football he came to play? Every minute, I keep thinking he will walk back through that door, hold me the way he used to and call me by the sweet pet names he always used. Does this mean I will never see my husband again? I cannot believe this has happened to me. God, please, bring my husband back to me. I still cannot believe this is happening. Someone, please wake me up and tell me this is all just a terrible dream. Jesús, what happened to all the promises you made to me? What happened to the beautiful world you promised we would build together? How could you leave me all alone in this cruel world? How am I supposed to survive without you? Our daughter, Carla Jesús de Miguel, has only just celebrated her first birthday, and she is still waiting for her daddy. Why would you leave her so soon? Why would you leave our innocent little girl to grow up without her father’s love, warmth and embrace at just one year old? 💔😭 Someone, please tap me and wake me up. I cannot accept that this is real. Jesús Owono, what did my husband ever do to deserve this? Did he deserve to die this way? You have taken the love of my life away from me. Are you happy now? 😭😭 How am I supposed to cope without the man I have loved since I was a teenager? He was my first love, my first everything, the man I grew up loving and the man I believed I would spend the rest of my life with. How can someone who meant the whole world to me suddenly become nothing but a memory? Jesús, we had a lifetime of dreams ahead of us. You promised me forever, but forever has been cruelly taken away from us. We were supposed to grow old together, watch Carla grow into a beautiful woman, celebrate countless birthdays and create beautiful memories as a family. You were supposed to hold her hand, guide her through life and be there for every important milestone. Why has fate taken you away before you could fulfil all those dreams? I don’t know how to live with this pain. I don’t know where to find the strength to carry on, especially knowing that our daughter will grow up asking questions about the father she barely had time to know. A part of me died the moment I lost you. I can only pray that I somehow find the strength to stay strong for Carla, even when my heart is completely shattered. Someone, please wake me up. I don’t want to believe that my first love, my husband and the father of my child is gone forever. Jesús, I don’t want a lifetime of memories. I just want you back. 😭💔” #RIPJesusDeMiguel #Spain #Owono #CFTenerife #FCAndorra #VANCE2028 #TrumpOut
I fully understand why María, the wife of the late Jesús de Miguel, would want Jesús Owono to be punished or even sent to prison following the tragic death of her husband. I understand her pain, anger and frustration, and I believe her feelings deserve to be respected. However, putting emotions and racism aside, I genuinely do not believe Owono deserves to be sent to prison simply because of what happened. Similar incidents have happened numerous times in football. Manuel Neuer and several other goalkeepers have been involved in dangerous collisions with opposing players, including incidents on football’s biggest stage, the UEFA Champions League. Unfortunately, in Owono’s case, the incident ended in a tragic loss of life. That does not automatically make him a murderer or mean that he intended to kill anyone. He may simply have been an unfortunate goalkeeper involved in a terrible accident. I believe appropriate disciplinary action should be considered if his actions are found to have breached the rules, but that is different from demanding imprisonment. The circumstances, his intentions and whether there was any criminal negligence must all be carefully examined before reaching a conclusion. Under Spanish law and the Spanish Constitution, could Jesús Owono face criminal consequences for his actions? Could he actually be charged with murder, or are there legal provisions that distinguish an accidental football collision from a criminal offence? Does football’s legal framework offer any protection against imprisonment in circumstances like this? Justice should be served, but it must be based on evidence and the law, not emotions, public pressure or racism.

🚨🎙️ Thierry Henry on Jesús Owono’s life-ending challenge on Jesús de Miguel during the FC Andorra vs Tenerife match. “Honestly, I’ve watched that incident so many times, and I still struggle to understand what happened. Every time they show the replay, I find myself shouting at the television. I don’t know how you leave your goal, come out for a one-on-one challenge and raise your knee that high towards another player’s chest. What exactly are you trying to achieve in that situation? As a goalkeeper, you have to understand the danger of that kind of challenge. You can come out and clear the ball without putting another player’s safety at risk. “What really hurts me is that football is supposed to bring people happiness. We play this game to entertain millions of people, to create memories and to give supporters something to celebrate. Nobody should go onto a football pitch and never come home again. “And now, Owono will wake up tomorrow, put on his boots and probably return to training at some point. But what about Jesús de Miguel’s family? What happens to the people who were waiting for him at home? What do you tell his parents, his brothers, his friends? They have lost someone they can never replace. I don’t think we spend enough time thinking about the families who are left behind after tragedies like this. “I also think we need to have a serious conversation about punishment. A red card is a football punishment. But when an incident has consequences this devastating, can we honestly say that a red card is enough? I’m not saying we should rush to judgment without an investigation, but if reckless conduct is established, the punishment must reflect the seriousness of what happened. In the most serious cases, I believe a lifetime ban should be considered. Players need to understand that there is a responsibility that comes with stepping onto a football pitch, and that responsibility includes protecting one another. “I’m not saying this because I want to see another footballer’s career destroyed. I’m saying it because we cannot keep treating player safety as something secondary. If stronger consequences are necessary to prevent another family from experiencing this kind of tragedy, then football authorities must be prepared to act. “My deepest condolences go to Jesús de Miguel’s family, his teammates, everyone at Tenerife and all those who loved him. I cannot imagine their pain. And I hope they are given all the support they need during this incredibly difficult time. “Rest in peace, Jesús. No football match should ever end with a family losing someone they love.”

Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face. These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country — including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first. We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy. While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.

Trump screamed at a reporter, called him a “sick guy” and said he looks “like hell” after he asked an innocuous question about the President's travel. This is not normal behavior. The American people are FED UP with Trump‘s narcissism, incompetence and greed. ENOUGH.

You may have read about Lewy body dementia in the news recently following the sad passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. If you don’t know what Lewy body dementia is, you’re not alone. Here’s what you need to know. Dementia is caused by different diseases that affect the brain. Lewy body dementia is caused by Lewy body disease. About 1 in 10 people with dementia has Lewy body dementia. In this disease, tiny clumps of proteins known as Lewy bodies appear in the nerve cells of the brain, causing a range of symptoms, some of which are shared by Alzheimer’s disease and some by Parkinson’s disease. For this reason, dementia with Lewy bodies is often wrongly diagnosed. Everyone experiences dementia differently. Both Lewy body dementia and Alzheimer’s disease can cause problems with staying focused, difficulties with making decisions, memory loss, and problems with the way the person sees things around them. However, Lewy body dementia also causes symptoms that are not usually seen in Alzheimer's disease. These include hallucinations, problems staying fully awake, difficulties with movement and very disturbed sleep. We have more information about Lewy body dementia on our website. And if you’re worried about yourself or someone else, give our Dementia Support Line a call on 0333 150 3456.
