I've uploaded my passport to so many shady crypto projects, so this hits home
ZKPassport runs on @aztecnetwork and supports the private launch of a company or fundraise via @MetaLeX_Labs
@lex_node, will you ever go back to collecting raw IDs?
Replying to @ZKPassport
@ZKPassport has been an absolute game-changer for MetaLeX and its users and my clients. Composable ZK-proofs are the future of legal compliance--and it will be automated and streamlined on @MetaLeX_Labs

ETH is the asset that will secure the future.

Everything ETH on one page - more to come!
This is beautiful. Crypto can be much more fun, powerful and meaningful that just sending coins to one another, now privately
Great work @lex_node @aztecnetwork @ZKPassport

This proposal from ZCG is infuriating.
It conveniently *extends* their mandate, currently set to end in 2028, until 2032.
It also keeps ZCAP fully in control and doesn't offer *any* control to coinholders.
Enough is enough.
ZCG proposes to donate ~36,200 ZEC (~$46M) to Zcash's future block rewards, paid out from 2031 into the 2040s, and forgo ~62,000 ZEC of its emissions.
The largest voluntary contribution we know of to the security budget of a capped-supply PoW coin. 🛡️

How do you prove a hardware wallet has no hidden code on it?
Fill every byte of its memory with random junk. Unplug it. Ask for all of it back.
If all 2 MB come back exactly, there was no room left for anything else.
Built this for the PQ1 this week 👇

You’re a blue chip GC and Weil Gotshal calls you about your $368,258 Q2 outstanding billings.
Mind boggling stuff honestly. I don’t think enough people comprehend the magnitude of this. “Prove who you are without telling me who you are”
Magic

it's going to be a race to a bottom of eat what you kill and then replacing the salaried lawyers w AI. before long, it'll be a few rainmakers, basically w some secretaries and engineers, advising lean in house counsel teams on the mega deals that they can't do on their own. the harnesses (i.e., stacks of precedent and preferences of the rainmakers) will be useful in the medium term but will be obviated by raw frontier models. considering Claude couldn't turn a complex doc 6 months ago, this could all happen in 5 years
I think the Weil fallout might point to the fact (which others have pointed out) that the traditional law firm partnership structure does not work anymore. The truth is a Biglaw firm is a rather commoditised support platform that serves rainmaking partners with back office operations, supply of labour from associates, counsels and service partners. Who controls the cash flow effectively controls the firm and if the rainmakers head for the door it leads to a bank run type scenario. In most firms the power has shifted majorly towards a few rainmakers particularly in PE and M&A and that creates a huge key person risk when they decide to pack their bags.
I’m not sure what the solution to this is but I imagine it’s only going to get worse when the platform that firms offer get even more commoditised by AI which will do more and more of what junior to mid-level lawyers are currently doing. Maybe the answer is building some real tech moat within your firm? Or just being able to predict market trends really well and investing correctly in the right practices like Kirkland.

I want developers to build private apps without becoming cryptographers. We built PLONK, Noir and Aztec Network to make that possible, with private smart contracts that people can use from a phone.

wait so first you guys told me that "Tate" refers to something other than the guy behind the elliptic curve pairing, now you're telling me that "Weil" *also* refers to something other than the guy behind the elliptic curve pairing?

You think Claude legal and Harvey are going to obsolete lawyers but also cmbs loan docs could obv have been standardized but attorneys and lenders happily gatekeep to charge borrowers hundreds of thousands on every deal to get to the same stupid place every time?

if weil truly enters wind-down, its data would be a seminal buy for an “ai-for-law” workflow startup (harvey, legora)… and exceptionally valuable for restructuring & distressed workflows
us law firm weil, gotshal & manges pioneered modern day corporate restructuring under the renowned harvey miller.
it is ironic, and sad, that they just hired a restructuring advisor and are exploring winding down, i.e. the restructuring shop needs a restructuring…
but i am curious if this is truly a one-off or just the beginning of challenges at services / law firms as AI disruption continues.

The Harvey’s and Legora’s of the world better cash in now… Over time, the frontier models will duplicate all of the “proprietary workflows” of the legal tech cos, who are just OpenAI and Anthropic wrappers, and instead of $5K per month, you’ll get the same product for $200.

the people who were saying we have to "hide the crypto" have given up and pivoted to AI while the people who are left building are making products that are unapologetically onchain
it's beautiful
