I ended up loving someone I may never get to build a life with. Someone I can’t reach for whenever I miss them, can’t call mine, and somehow can’t get out of my heart. I still find myself choosing them in a thousand little ways, even when reality reminds me that they’re not mine to keep. There’s a particular kind of heartbreak in having to move forward with your life while your heart is still making room for someone you’d gladly spend forever with.
