unpinning this tweet bc it worked
all the baby things at target now are in this muted pastel color palette that seems less like anything that might appeal to babies and more for like... cultivating a "parenting aesthetic"
not a thing I ever worried about really, but I always had really terrible intuitions for whether or not people I met would remember me
I used to re-introduce myself to people like "Hi, I'm Lisa, we met last night, at dinner?"
until enough people had this "yeah, obviously?" reaction that I just stopped doing it. still have zero intuition for it tho
another modern quirk I keep seeing is "speaking on", like "I can't speak on that"?
instead of speaking about, or speaking to?
idk why everybody speaking "on" things now
not the content specifically but this video made me realize I need more old ladies in my life to tell me things
my 15yo and his friends have been hanging out at the gym a lot recently lifting weights
this seems better than what same aged kids were doing in the 90s
maybe the zoomers are gonna be great
What career advice am I even supposed to give my 15yo right now? His favorite subject has been computer science, he likes speech & debate, is very social. He is skeptical that college makes sense at all, and I am entirely unsure at this point
idk it seems like the main interviewer started flipping to a new page midway through her response, or showed something to a second person (?), so she stopped the interpersonal/warm affect and changed to "I'm paying attention and will take this new matter seriously"
yesterday I had chatgpt help me plan out some gardening and it was possibly the most helpful use case I've had apart from coding
ok got it! next time 15yo starts an argument I'll go "TIME TO DANCE, BRO" and chuck a ball at him

3. Feed the dopamine drop with rhythm or movement
Music with a strong beat activates the ADHD dopamine system more reliably than almost any other input.
The second you see the boredom-poking start, turn on an upbeat playlist or toss them a ball to catch before the restlessness turns into a brawl.4/6
I'm realizing people have very different priors wrt how likely someone is to be cognitively strange, vs cognitively high-performing
like I find it much more plausible that Elizabeth Holmes has weird and non-intuitive motivations and reasoning, than that her motivations are predictable but she's just astoundingly good at lying and manipulating
