It feels so good to be back in Germany. My wife hasn't been back for 11 years and we haven't been here together since we left with our kids in 2012 when I was reassigned to the US.
The first bite from my morning roll felt like all 15.5 years I spent in this country flooded back. Never cried over schinken and bread before. 😂😭💙🙏
So much of my adult life was spent here and almost half my marriage. All 4 kids went to school here, grew up here, etc.
