The way some parents get so worked up over other people choosing not to have children honestly sounds like regret and a whole lot of coping to me.
If parenthood is truly as fulfilling as you claim why does someone else’s decision not to have kids bother you so much?
You can be mature, generous, selfless, and have a meaningful life without reproducing. Having children doesn’t automatically make you a better person and your personal experience isn’t proof that everyone else is missing out.
You don’t know what your life would’ve been like without children any more than I know what mine would’ve been like with them. That’s how choices work.
If you are not a parent, you will never know what you could have become and what you could have felt by raising little humans. As someone who weren't born with the mothering genes, I completely transformed into a more mature, generous, selfless person after having babies. At work and making life choices, I became a much more productive and time efficient person. Sure I do miss freedom and the liberty to prioritize myself from time to time - but I do know kids grow up so fast and the beauty of watching them grow is priceless. the joy and purpose and drive far outweigh the challenges.
at least as a mother's perspective, being able to experience being pregnant, giving birth, breastfeeding, raising a child was the most humbling, ethereal experience of my life. being able to do that 4 times is my biggest life achievement and pride.
