I am grateful to all of you who are trying to keep Europe and the United States together. There are so many people with good hearts in America who sincerely want evil to lose and Ukraine to stand strong. These are the very hearts that helped Europe defend its freedom, and that fought on D-Day, won the Cold War, and want what is best for Europe. Hearts that want to be allies, not to divide or humiliate Europe. I believe most Americans still feel this way. And at the end of the day, the American people will have their say. Putin will listen to America if America really turns up the heat on him and makes one thing clear – either he chooses peace, or he gets no more money for his war. From an address to the participants of the European Council meeting. (2/5)

More than 100 elected officials have joined me in calling on parking lot and garage owners across New York City: Don’t give ICE a place to operate. Don’t rent to them. Tell them they’re not welcome. Last week, ICE agents shot Oscar Belgal in the neck in Marble Hill while his 5-year-old son sat in the car. They had been staging nearby in a private parking lot. Our city laws keep ICE off public property. Now, we’re calling on private property owners to do the same. One garage on Morton Street already removed ICE vehicles after neighbors spoke out. Every owner has that power.

She was EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT, getting her two children ready for school, when six officers arrived at the door with a warrant. Porcha Woodruff thought it was a joke. They were arresting her for carjacking. She and her fiancé asked them to check whether the suspect on the report was pregnant. They refused. Detroit, the morning of 16 February 2023. She is 32. Here is how they got to her. A woman had returned the victim's phone to a petrol station. Police ran facial recognition on the petrol station video. The software produced Porcha Woodruff. Then — and this is the part that turns a software error into a human one — they put her in a photo line-up using an **eight-year-old picture** from a 2015 arrest. They had her current driver's licence. They used the old photo. The victim picked it. A visibly, enormously pregnant woman was processed for robbery and carjacking. She was held and released that evening on a hundred-thousand-dollar personal bond. By the time she got out she was having contractions from the stress, and a medical centre recorded a low heart rate from dehydration. On 6 March the Wayne County Prosecutor dropped the case. Insufficient evidence. Her lawsuit calls the match what it was: an "unreliable facial recognition match." The police chief said the allegations were "very concerning." Think about the order of events once more, because it matters. The machine was wrong. Then a detective chose an eight-year-old photograph over the licence on file. Then six officers went to a house. Then nobody in that chain looked at a woman eight months pregnant and compared her to a report that did not mention a pregnant suspect. Her story is a reminder of why these injustices must be documented, remembered, and challenged. Get our book which documents over 150 of the crimes against Black people savvypurchase.samcart.com/pr…

They really just got on stage and said this newly designed 4000+ pound car can do flips and go half the speed of sound (380+mph) and will ship in 2028. This is a prank, right?
Our design language has evolved since the last reveal: from S3XY to Cybertruck, Cybercab & Optimus Roadster is inspired by the SR-71 & F-35

While you were distracted about Susan Dell... ICE was fast-tracking a $100 million plan to deploy 142 intel agents across 25+ cities and D.C., in what surveillance experts warn would be a significant expansion of its power to pry into private citizens' lives.

Discord rolls out age-verification "lite" that sorts people into age groups automatically, no ID required ----- This is incrementalism. They've seen too much resistance to age verification that requires an ID, so they need to take a smaller step people won't reject. That smaller step is to roll out age verification that doesn't require ID (in this case for 90% of users). If we accept this, they will have established that they can age-categorize the internet. Apps like Discord are rolling it out as a test right now; if it works, legislation will follow. The app enables age-categorization of the internet; the legislation codifies the government's authority to require it. Once they have the authority to age-categorize the internet codified into law, they are that much closer to an ID-based age-gating/verification system that they will push for next. Or, another incremental strategy is to make it so that 90% of users don't need an ID right now, then move it to 89%, then to 88%, and so on. This would reduce the number of affected users, so unaffected users are less likely to leave the service in solidarity with those who are affected, ultimately reducing the backlash of rolling out age verification. Either way, we're that much closer to having to use an ID to get online. dexerto.com/entertainment/di…

It’s been 6 months since I sold all of my individual stocks and a week since I called on my opponent to do the same, but he has refused. I am in this race to lower costs and improve the lives of all Ohioans. Meanwhile, Vivek Ramaswamy has been cashing in on data centers, making millions off those investments while he campaigns. As governor, I’ll put money back into your pockets. Vivek Ramaswamy is busy lining his.

There is something so unbelievably bleak about an article that calmly walks readers through how to navigate being laid off after 50, losing your health insurance, and somehow surviving the years until Medicare. What a broken country.

Can we get a timeline for an update regarding Halo Fest? @asha_shar There is so much attached to Halo Fest and the Halo Concert, we even have all of the competitive Halo scene competing THIS WEEKEND for @HCS points that lead directly to Halo Fest. Perhaps even a short comment now will help.

Since the day LVT started working with @DIV360 @MuggsyLT and the rest of the HCS team, LVT has grown to unimaginable heights. To say I am heartbroken for them is an absolute understatement, @HCS was one of the shining pillars of Halo Infinite - as far as I can tell, a solid majority of the player base stuck around because of the events they helped coordinate, there is still a dedicated esports community fighting for Halo to this day. The HCS events fostered community and growth with Halo Infinite at the spine of it all. We hit the ground running in Halo Infinite with our first Major a month after launch. This team believed in me and I can’t thank them enough for that.
