As the prophecy foretold
“I don’t care if he’s the Chair of the Defence Select Committee” A churlish and ill-tempered outing from Wes Streeting at the Despatch Box as he undermines Tan Dhesi and the Labour-chaired Defence Select Committee that holds the Defence Secretary to account. This is entirely the wrong tone to adopt.

The budget was yesterday. They did nothing. He is lying to you. He doesn't want to cut it. Or he would have done.

Kemi Badenoch is such a great leader. She’d be brilliant as prime minister.
Britain doesn’t need to go back to the divisions of Brexit. We need to get on with fixing the problems facing our country: cutting the welfare bill, funding our defence and growing our economy.

John Healey resigning over the 3% of GDP for defence issue in spring '26 and then deferring that same decision as chancellor until 2027 is embarassing. His resig letter said that the Starmer gov was, "unwilling to commit the resources the nation needs to defend the country".
