Maybe some of you knew about those but it's the first time I've come across them and it blew my mind. So we're on a beach in the Philippines and we kept seeing these egg-like green balls in the seagrass. At first I thought they were plastic because they looked kind of like plastic toy capsules. But there were so many of them all over the beach that either some kid had lost the biggest toy collection in history, or something else was going on. So I checked and turns out they're called "Sailor's Eyeballs" (Valonia ventricosa) and each one is a single-celled organism, one of the largest on earth. Yup, that's one cell: the "plastic" shell is its cell wall, and everything inside is made of nuclei and cell sap. I never knew cells could get that big, I always assumed - wrongly, it turns out - that all cells were microscopic. You learn everyday!

I have been looking at 2 kings 19,where King Hezekiah received a letter from the king of Assyria. It was full of threats, fear, and intimidation. Everything around him suggested that defeat was certain. But Hezekiah did something many of us forget to do. The Bible says, "Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord." 2 Kings 19:14 He did not argue with the letter. He did not let fear make the decision. He took the matter straight to God. And God answered! He sent a word through the prophet Isaiah, promising to defend Jerusalem. That very night, the angel of the Lord struck down 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. The same king who had threatened Hezekiah went back home in shame, and his reign ended in defeat. God fought the battle that Hezekiah could never have won on his own. Tonight, take your letter to the temple. Spread before God the report that has stolen your peace. The rejection. The unpaid bills. The doctor's report. The family battle. The delay. The burden you have carried in silence. Do not end this day holding what God is waiting to handle. Your victory may not begin with a strategy. It may begin with surrender. The letter is not the final word. Heaven is. The battle changed the moment Hezekiah entered the temple. Yours can change tonight. May the God who answered Hezekiah answer you before the sun rises. Declare it in faith: Heaven has the final word over my life!

She was a little girl stolen from her home… and God used her to heal the man whose army took her. Her name is never written. Her age is never given. The Bible only calls her "a little maid." "And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife." (2 Kings 5:2) Think about that. Taken from her land. Far from her family. Serving in a foreign house… the house of the captain of the very army that carried her away. 😪 This is where most people begin to break. This is where bitterness moves in. "Why me? Why here? Why them?" But look at her master. "Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable… he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper." (2 Kings 5:1) Great man… BUT. Honourable… BUT. Mighty… BUT a leper. And the only one in that whole house who knew where help was… was the captive girl in the kitchen. Now look at this. She did not keep silent. She did not wish him dead. She opened her mouth and pointed to God. "Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy." (2 Kings 5:3) One sentence from a nobody… reached the ears of a king. Moved a general across nations. And sent a proud man down into the Jordan. "Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean." (2 Kings 5:14) And Naaman came back saying, "Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel." (2 Kings 5:15) 👌 All of that began with a little maid whose name the Bible never recorded. Now the question is not about the little maid anymore. It is about you. You were taken to a place you never chose. A job that feels like captivity. A city far from home. A season where nobody knows your name. Now listen carefully. God does not waste the place where you were carried. "For who hath despised the day of small things?" (Zechariah 4:10) "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28) You may feel small. You may feel unseen. But you could be the only one in that house who knows where the healing is. Open your mouth. WHERE I WAS CARRIED, GOD HAS PLANTED ME. MY VOICE WILL POINT MANY TO HIS HEALING, IN JESUS' NAME. ✒ © Tevin Macharia

This is the Oxyrhynchus Hymn, dated to the late 200s AD. It is the earliest known Christian hymn manuscript with both lyrics and musical notation. A plain English rendering of the surviving words: “Let all creation be silent. Let the shining stars be still. Let the rushing winds and rivers cease. While we sing to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, let every power answer: Amen, amen. Strength, praise, and glory forever to God, the only giver of all good things. Amen, amen.”

You know what wrecked me when I was newly Christian? Genesis 22. For years as a Muslim, I was told the story was about Ishmael. Then I actually read it. I think the bigger topic isn't Isaac or Ishmael. It's this: Why would God ask Abraham to sacrifice his son in the first place? What kind of God does that? The answer hit me like a freight train, because it shattered my Muslim worldview. God wasn't being cruel, He was painting a picture. Abraham never goes through with sacrificaing Isaac. God stops him, then God provides a ram in his place. That action is not just a test or an isolated story: That's prophetic. It's a blueprint. The blueprint goes: A father. A son. A sacrifice. A substitute. You see where I am going with this. Genesis 22 is actually the heartbeat of the Gospel. God was foreshadowing the day when He Himself would provide the sacrifice. Not for one man. Not only for one family. But for the whole world. Of course, salvation wasn't earned by Abraham's performance. It came through God's provision. You can recieve this substitute and gift. Here's what made me stop and think: The Quran retells the story of Genesis 22, but removes the name of the son. Why? Because once you start following the thread through Genesis, the prophets, and the covenant promises, you eventually have to wrestle with the Lamb that comes later. You have to wrestle with Jesus. The perfect sacrifice that every previous sacrifice pointed toward. And that's when I realized: The story was never ultimately about Abraham. It was always about what God was going to do for us. And there's nothing we can do to earn His approval! We can only receive the sacrifice He already provided.

Before you start your day, remind yourself: 1. I will trust the Lord with all my heart and not lean on my own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5) 2. God is directing my steps, even when I can’t see the whole picture. (Proverbs 16:9) 3. I will walk in wisdom, speak with grace, and let my actions honor God. (Colossians 4:5-6) 4. I am not walking into this day alone. The Lord is my strength and my shield. (Psalm 28:7) Walk into today with bold faith knowing God is already ahead of us. Happy Tuesday 🤍

When you study the Bible and become familiar with what is written, the Holy Spirit can begin to plug those verses, passages and concepts into your mind, in real time, while you’re handling life situations, and if you listen, this is how you are molded to the character of Christ

When the gospel is preached in the power of the Holy Spirit, God himself does what man cannot do: he creates the faith that saves. The call of God does what the call of man can’t. It raises the dead. It creates spiritual life. desiringgod.org/articles/the…
