📰 For those wondering what the Melbourne Cup means, or questioning if it's lost its significance, today I spoke to the breeder and owner of So You Are, Stuart Ramsey. Unbeknownst to me, when I called to chat for a story, Ramsey didn't know his horse had made the field. When I told him, he was reduced to tears.
"I can't believe it. You breed and race horses all your life, hoping to get a runner in the Melbourne Cup. It's a dream come true," he said.

📰 Aeliana's trainer Chris Waller spoke on the Big Sports Breakfast this morning and told him "it's very unlikley" the mare will run in the Melbourne Cup. If she doesn't tackle the Cup, she is "a good chance" to run in G1 Champions Stakes over 2000m.
Waller is leaning towards a spell for Birdman, but the Champions Stakes remains an option.
Joliestar "most likely" runs in the Champions Sprint.
