In 2022 there was a recurring problem: bootstrapping a new blockchain's liquidity was horrible. It was almost impossible to get Uniswap or Curve to deploy, so the idea was simple: create a tiny, open-source, no-attribution scaffold that anyone could fork and deploy, even without technical ability. Three contracts. Uniswap-style volatile liquidity. Curve-style stable liquidity. And a built-in ve flywheel to bootstrap and direct incentives. So I created ve(3,3). Since then, that design and its descendants have grown into: • 163 unique app deployments • 44 blockchains • $748.8B in cumulative volume • ~$16.0B in token(s) value Although, to be fair, the data is heavily skewed: Aerodrome alone accounts for ~$424.2B of that volume, and Aerodrome today has evolved far beyond that original simple system. What I find more interesting is how portable the idea became. Robinhood Chain alone already has 18 different implementations/versions of the model. The goal was never to build one DEX for every chain. It was to make the basic liquidity and incentive infrastructure simple enough that nobody had to wait for permission to have one.
