I don’t think the singularity is “near” anymore. I think it’s probably here. We went through a bunch of AI conspiracy theories on the podcast, and now I’m convinced that most people are using AI for the wrong things. Watch: youtube.com/watch?v=IRoO0FMW…

Turns out Moltbook didn't disappear. Meta bought it. Why?

Only a human can say, based off of what I know, and based off of everything I think here, this is the right decision for the company. Forward-looking, creatively speaking, decision making is almost like an art form. And I don't want my AI making the forward-looking decisions for my company. AI started. Human finished.

I will forever be a technological optimist. I will forever believe that if we can just get the technology (AI in today’s case) into everyone's hands, and we believe that it's there for us to create whatever value we want, there will be real gems in there. The most innovative creations never come from the incumbents. It comes from two brothers in a bike shop who think they can fly, and then they go make a fucking plane!

If you’re an insurance agency owner, this episode of Insurance Buzz Podcast is a must listen. Hear us talk AI, agentic workflows, and where the insurance buying shopping cycle is heading. youtube.com/watch?v=nxU48iel…

A major part of me misses the curation control that decision logic chatbots used to have. The ability to really push creative control. With out of the box LLMs, everything feels and sounds like something you’ve read before, because for the most part, you have. I love AI a lot more than most people, but dang, I’m really thirsty for some more personality in there.

Who are the AI pirates today? 🏴‍☠️

Chatbots and agents keep getting lumped together but they work differently. Chatbots or tools like ChatGPT and Claude, you can get really good at prompting and steering them, but they're still turn-based. You ask, it answers, you ask again. Agentic AI actually reasons about the next step while trying to accomplish a goal. It connects to your tools, kicks off tasks , judges its own work, requests work from other agents, runs the whole thing start to finish. No back-and-forth. Almost like an autonomous teammate working in the background while you go do something else.

My framework for deciding if a job on your team should be done by an AI agent: Does the seat need net-new IP creation? Always give this to a human. Is it looking at the past up to now? Use AI. Both? Augment. I don't want my AI making the forward-looking decisions for me or my company. I just want it surfacing everything for me as a leader, so instead of digging through all the crap, it's on my plate, the way I like it, so I can digest it and make the highest quality decision, quicker. There's too much of everyone doing the same thing. Pick a niche and go deep. Deep, deep, deep. Even deeper than you think.

Do you know the difference between how an early Boeing flies vs an early Airbus? Boeing: pilot takes the yoke, executes a command, plane moves. Turn right, plane goes right. Direct input. Nothing in between me and the move. That's very much how most of us run a business, right? Airbus flipped it. Pilot executes a command, command goes to the computer, computer checks if it's a safe move, computer moves the plane. Human, computer, computer, move.

That's how I run @hiremav now. I dip into the model. It validates what I want to do, corrects my line of thinking, or if it can just do it, does it. Every day the stuff I do directly as a human keeps shrinking. Augmented = multiplied. Got into the details with @internethillary on the new Manual Work is a Bug. Give it a listen. 📺 Watch: youtu.be/uRjSNiAfYr0?si=gPsy… 🎧 Listen: open.spotify.com/episode/5BY…

The LLMs we’re all using right now, this is the worst AI we're ever going to use. Think about how they actually work. You dump in info, they think, they answer. Your turn, my turn, pause. It sounds kind of dumb when you say it like that, right? Basically how websites work. Transactions. The next wave won’t wait its turn. Always on. Sees you, hears your tone, catches the sarcasm like a person would. Pair that with the robotics coming down the pipe and it gets wild fast.

We are already living in a world of full abundance. Sporadic. Choppy. Uneven. Weird. But we're here. Lots to be optimistic about. 📺 Watch: youtu.be/sqaI6IFM9Gs?si=W91y… 🎧 Listen: open.spotify.com/episode/3zJ…

Most people open ChatGPT and use it like a better Google. Ask a question, get an answer, done. That's fine, but where a lot of folks just stop. The way I actually operate with AI: every day I come in and ask what problems I'm trying to solve, small or big, and route them through my models. Stuff I would've written code for three or four years ago, I just describe now. Michael and Courtney Weaver had me on The Insurance Buzz podcast to get into all of it.
