Thanks @salmanneedsajob for capturing our story so beautifully! A village for Makers. Coming soon. In Goa :)
Makers Asylum is building a Hardware & Design Village in Goa! Crazy, especially if you know about their story and number of places they got kicked out of before
I had an opportunity to talk to @VaibhavChhabra8 founder of @makersasylum, and by sheer serendipity - the Minister of IT & Tourism of Goa @RohanKhaunte (during his visit to @JoinEdgeCity). Hear the story of how the project came to be:

Exploring how creativity, practical skills and hands-on learning can open up new opportunities for people of all ages.
An interaction with Ms. Richa Shrivastava of @makersasylum highlighted the value of spaces where people can learn, experiment, repair and create, while exploring possibilities for bringing such experiences to Panjim.

Had an insightful interaction with Ms. Richa Shrivastava from Maker’s Asylum on creating spaces where curiosity, creativity and practical problem-solving can grow beyond traditional academic settings.
The discussion highlighted initiatives around woodworking, recycling, repair and hands-on learning, including the Repair Café, where people bring broken or defective objects and work towards finding practical ways to fix and reuse them.
We also discussed Proto Spaces, Maker Bee workshops and educational programmes, including sessions designed to encourage participation among children with different abilities and create opportunities for learning through making.
From building advertising and sun boards to experimenting with tools and creative concepts like the Drill Press Café, Maker’s Asylum demonstrates how simple ideas, shared spaces and accessible tools can bring communities together.
The focus is on exploring how such creative, hands-on spaces can contribute to a more innovative Panjim giving people opportunities to learn, build, repair and create while strengthening the community around them.

For thirteen years @makersasylum have been building the room that everyone else builds in. Mumbai, then Delhi, then a house in Goa. Next year it becomes a design village.
