#NEET #JEE #CUET #examination Centre has extended the tenure of the Nandan Nilekani-led task force on examination reforms till January 2027, with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) seeking consultations with chief ministers and chief secretaries before the panel finalises its recommendations, TOI learnt from govt sources. During consultations, some stakeholders and experts have also suggested a hybrid format for NEET-UG 2027, allowing time to expand infrastructure for a complete shift to computer-based testing (CBT) in 2028. A govt source said the PMO wants the task force, earlier expected to submit its report by October-end, to seek views from state leadership on challenges particular to different regions. The aim, the source said, is to better understand disparities in testing infrastructure, connectivity and administrative preparedness, and reflect these state-specific concerns in a more comprehensive examination reform roadmap. For that the committee is also to consult the chief secretaries for their views. Another proposal likely to feature in the task force's recommendations is a nationwide network of CBT centres developed by the Centre and state governments with private investment, sources said. Such a model could expand government oversight of testing facilities while mobilising private capital to build infrastructure, particularly in districts that lack secure, adequately equipped centres. The funding, ownership and operating arrangements would need to be worked out. Such centres could support common security standards, reliable connectivity and better access for candidates outside metros. A @timesofindia #exclusive 👇 timesofindia.indiatimes.com/…

I went to France 24 home page expecting to read up on the riots last night and see the police and Macron's response. Instead, I kid you not, the lead story (yes lead) is:- "Indian opposition parties stage mega rally seeking election chief’s resignation." Why on earth would French people be interested in this? The next story is "How far will 'Cockroach' movement go? India's youth-led protests defy Modi government" and "India bans march on parliament by ‘Cockroach’ activists, risking a standoff". Can't see anything on the riots in France on its home page. Absolutely bizarre.

Here is part of my testimony at the parliamentary roundtable on terrorism. The Khalistani movement is responsible for the worst terrorist attack in Canadian history, but currently the biggest danger it poses is narcotics. They have infiltrated the trucking industry and turned it into a logistics hub for drugs and organized crime.

timesofindia.indiatimes.com/… An Indian businessman has filed a PIL in Madras High Court calling on the Union home ministry to conduct a detailed probe into the background of CJP leader Saurav Das and establish whether he is Nepalese. It also calls for a probe into how Abhijeet Dipke, Neha Bora and others came together, given they are all from different backgrounds.

My testimony in Canadian Parliament: Khalistan does not speak for Sikhs & the movement is deeply criminal. Pew found 95% of Sikhs surveyed in India were proud to be Indian. India has had a Sikh prime minister, president & senior military leadership. From Air India 182 to Nijjar, Operation Hard Ball, the Ryan Wedding criminal network & the threats reported by Nancy Grewal, Canada’s problem has not disappeared, it has become deeper, broader & more criminal. Nothing changed after Air India, it has only become worse. @csiscanada @Safety_Canada @rcmpgrcpolice @CanadianPM
I testified at the Canadian Parliament about ‘Khalistan in Canada’, its violent history in Canada & India, & how it’s nothing but a criminal enterprise. The detailed testimony coming soon. @shuvmajumdar @CostasMenegakis @vincentneilho @DanielBordmanOG

NEET-PG counselling: Candidates face a communication breakdown at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital. The nodal officer’s mobile is switched off and landline numbers are unreachable. MCC’s helpline says the responsibility lies with the college. Even candidates allotted seats at other institutes are struggling to get through. Why has MCC failed to ensure coordination with colleges for online counselling? Candidates need answers, not unreachable helplines. @timesofindia @SJHDELHI @MoHFW_INDIA @JPNadda #NEETPG #MCC #safdarjunghospital #MedicalCounselling

#UPpolls #UttarPradesh #Elections2027 #Politics Come Feb-March 2027, UP will vote in the mother of all state elections. Its significance can’t be overstated, everyone from Lucknow to Nagpur to 7 Lok Kalyan Marg knows it. Since the last election, Lok Sabha 2024, what’s moved on the ground? To that question, another one. Which UP will vote? ... BJP will argue voters approach LS and assembly polls differently. SP will say its 2024 gains reflect the mood in UP. If BJP wins, Yogi will become UP’s first CM to score a hat-trick, raising his stock in the party ecosystem. But, a victory changes surprisingly little in the near-term. BJP will remain Modi’s party; Yogi won’t suddenly inherit the Centre. But a UP win would set BJP in pole position for another term in Delhi. Lose UP, or win with thin margins, and 2029’s arithmetic will be redrawn overnight... For Yogi, the single biggest differentiator between 2022 and 2024 was RSS-BJP equation. In LS polls, Sangh reportedly went into standby mode. BJP paid for it. It’s not that RSS can make BJP win every election. But it certainly dents the tally when it stays home. For 2027, BJP has Sangh’s full support. BJP’s biggest headache is double anti-incumbency – a third term at the Centre, a second in UP. As has been the party’s response to this, expect new candidates to blunt voter fatigue with the current dispensation. Proof: BJP has changed all 8 Rajya Sabha nominees from UP. @drindrajeetrai Read online @timesofindia 👇 timesofindia.indiatimes.com/…

Jamia Millia Islamia announces resumption of student union elections after two decades. In an order issued on Monday, the university administration said the elections would be held within 15 days of the approval of the students’ union constitution. “The Jamia Millia Islamia Students’ Union Election will be held after 15 days, from the date of approval of the constitution of the Students’ Union of Jamia Millia Islamia,” the order stated. The announcement comes after days of protests by students, who have been demanding the restoration of the elected students’ union, which was dissolved by the university administration in 2006.
