European regulators love their cookie banners. All new European cars require you to manually turn off the acoustic warning signal that goes off whenever you touch the speed limit. Every time you start the car. Now the same "functionality" comes to FSD. rdw.nl/en/news/2026/rdw-appr…

Dailymotion ran Redis Sentinel, Memcached, and Aerospike. Three engines, each with its own operations, backups, and bill. They consolidated all three onto Dragonfly, mostly with a hostname-and-secret swap and no maintenance window. - $450K/year saved - Up to 75% fewer nodes per workload (recommendation store: 11 Redis nodes → 3 Dragonfly nodes) - 2 to 5x lower latency than Redis - 30% smaller in-memory dataset - About 40 Dragonfly instances serving roughly 500K ops/sec All for about 400M monthly users, on Kubernetes across 7 regions on AWS and GCP. The upcoming Relay functionality in BullMQ is pretty neat. To really get the best out of it, you’re going to want a solid dashboard.

Butter-smooth Doom on MiSTer. z486_MiSTer 20261003 is out 🚀 Doom +9.3%, Quake +19%. Studying 486 patents has helped solve more of the chip’s mysteries, including instruction decoding and x87 dispatch, leading to a simpler design and better performance. github.com/nand2mario/z486_M…

I built a Photoshop-like image editor. It’s called Compositor. robbietilton.com/compositor I originally built it for myself to get off my Adobe subscription, but decided to release it for free and make it open source. It has all the essential tools I need for compositing, with none of the BS. I know this workflow is kind of archaic in 2026, but I’m still using it until AI can actually get pixel-perfect on some of the details. The entire app is 12MB. Photoshop is 6,455MB on my machine.

After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI? I’ve spent the last 2 years in stealth building a new way to train models (RLCD), and a new type of frontier AI model that we are releasing today: Jev • 20-200x faster • 40-400x cheaper (w/ output tokens free) • Frontier composable intelligence optimized for decisions AFAICT the shortest path to AI-based economic revolution

This relies on the long-debunked Labor Theory of Value. A worker can spend 100 hours digging ditch-holes and filling them back up; without market demand and purpose, that labor creates zero value. Labor without capital is just an unemployed person with a shovel. The capitalist provides the idea, takes the financial risk, organizes supply chains, and acquires the machinery that turns raw labor into a productive, high-wage output. Value isn't "extracted" from labor, it’s generated when capital, risk, and labor voluntarily combine to meet consumer demand.

Some people would rather make rich people poorer than help poor people get richer. They spend all day angry about someone else’s money and almost no time asking why a mother can work from morning to night and still struggle to feed her children. If someone got rich by providing great value to the world, good for them. We actually need more people like that! But don’t tell me you care about the poor when you spend more time resenting the rich than asking what would actually help the poor.
