Have you seen Richard Osman’s new film The Thursday Murder Club on Netflix yet?
It stars our wonderful Ambassador Sir Jonathan Pryce CBE. He plays the character Stephen, who is living with dementia.
This is the third time Sir Jonathan has portrayed a character with dementia, something which has impacted his family.
‘While I tend not to base my portrayal on anyone in particular, I have lived through a loved one losing their memory. My beloved Aunt Mair had dementia at the end of her life.’
Seeing dementia on the big, and little, screen is so important in raising awareness.

Dietary changes at Christmas can be tricky. Taste buds can change & mean that certain foods no longer hold the same appeal. Try offering familiar foods that will encourage eating. Give choice; a buffet is a great option #DietaryChange #FestiveFood #DementiaAwareness

For those living in care environments, it's worth remembering that not everyone has families, or friends who are nearby. If you can, spend a few extra minutes one on one with these individuals

Overstimulation can be an issue at Christmas for people living with a dementia. Bright lights, loud music, changes to the environment, decorations, & big crowds are just some of the things that can cause overstimulation #DementiaAwareness #SensoryOverload
