Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified. The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far. Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete. As an immediate precaution, Binance has: - temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed; - revoked the affected address authorisation; - engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds. Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice. Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions. binance.com/en/support/annou…

We just launched Exa Blue, the first onchain credit card that lets you use your Coinbase tokenized stocks as collateral to buy now and pay later in fixed-rate installments. Not bad.
The world’s first credit card backed by Coinbase tokenized stocks is here! Now live exclusively on Exa Blue 🟦 our web @base version of Exa: base.exactly.app (coming soon to the Exa App)

We could write a thread about what dAppBooster does for Canton devs, or we could just show you. It’s free, open source tooling funded by @CantonFdn, built to get you from zero to a running dApp on @CantonNetwork in minutes. Try it here dappbooster.cc/

Over the last 30 days, Derive has remained over 90% of the onchain options market. In that same time frame, we’ve done about 5% of Deribit’s options volumes, up from 0.1% a year ago. It’s difficult to build momentum in this category because of the uniquely strong network effects around options markets. Users and market makers hold positions and collateral on exchange for the duration of an option, often many months. The difficulty and cost of integration are a liquidity provider is an order of magnitude higher than perps. Options markets are also the last vertical to mature in any asset class. Onchain has finally broken the dam - and Derive, alongside all of our builders and partners, has a chance to redefine the options category, first in crypto, and then beyond. The tailwinds are enormous, and still underappreciated by most people I speak with. 1. Bringing options liquidity onchain unlocks more functionality than any other vertical: programmable, composable building blocks for precise, tailored yield generation, hedging, and speculative trades. One click hedges embedded in every brokerage and fintech, yield generation strategies with verifiable backtests and transparent risk, on any asset, new social trading experiences built using the kinds of trades only options can support. 2. AI for UX: the biggest barrier to entry to trading options is understanding. 2026 has seen a step function change in how models reason about options. This has yet to filter through to UX, but is coming. People shouldn’t trade options if they don’t understand them. But - given they want to express an opinion about the market - they should be able to find the best way to translate that into a trade. Options are often the best way to do so. 3. AI for agentic trading: options give you thousands of ways to express a view across strikes, expiries and structures. For many traders this is overwhelming, but for agents, it’s a much more useful set of choices. My wager is that agents will prefer specificity and precision when executing trades: not just whether an asset goes up or down, but how far, by when, and with how much risk. Options are the answer. These tailwinds are strengthening just as our liquidity hits an inflection point. Big integrations take time to come to fruition, but we’re seeing the results month by month, with many more in the pipeline. At the same time, we’ve completed our biggest infrastructure upgrade in 3 years, taking what was already a leading onchain product into what I believe is the best options infrastructure anywhere. We have so much more work to do, and will be constantly taking feedback, iterating on the product, and ensuring that every dollar of liquidity that onboards to Derive is earned. But we really are only at the dawn of the last major trading vertical to move onchain, and in my opinion, it will be the largest.

Underrated thing about the @CantonFdn grant process: you get real technical review. @ShaulKfir read our scope and told us where it was too broad. Ratko, DA's CTO, and the @digitalasset core team went through it component by component and showed us what was already in flight, first on the PR and then on calls. The resulting proposal was half the size and twice as focused. First-time applicant, founder and CTO in the thread. That does not happen in most ecosystems. nitter.cf/bootnodedev/status/210…
41% of devs in @CantonFdn's survey said env setup took longest to get right. On @CantonNetwork that's a participant node, a synchronizer, the JSON Ledger API, auth, and a wallet, before any business logic. Canton dAppBooster runs it locally: pnpm dlx dappbooster --canton

41% of Canton new devs said setup took longest to get right. Not Daml. Not the privacy model. Not the architecture. Every ecosystem that wins developers wins them in the first hour. That hour has to be one command, with whatever you need to build the first screen already in the box. Fixed by @bootnodedev ✅ nitter.cf/bootnodedev/status/210…

For years, one of DeFi's best-kept secrets sat behind a locked door. 🔒 TWAP orders. Advanced traders swore by them. Everyone else needed a Safe, a custom fallback handler, and an afternoon to spare. Today, the door comes off its hinges. TWAP is open to every wallet. 🧵

Back in 2021, at @bootnodedev we started contributing to Derive v1. I wish I had this video to explain to my team and other partners what Derive was and how they could leverage this primitive. Thanks, man!
Options can seem complicated. So in this video, I'm breaking them down through @DeriveXYZ - from calls and puts to actually understanding the UI. We then put it into practice with: • @koolkrypto223 's call spread strategy • How options could hedge positions on @DeFiSaver Would you use options to hedge your lending positions via DeFi Saver? Let me know

good bit from Nick Forster @nickforster on why deribit still does twenty times the options volume of everything onchain combined. it's not custody and it's not fees. you can't launch an options venue with one contract, you need the whole board live at once, 500 to 1000 instruments across strikes and expiries. and the people selling the vol are institutions who won't move venues for a rebate. spreads on options are wide enough that incentives just don't work the way they do on perps. which is roughly why derive has 93% of onchain options premium and still only about 4% of deribit's notional. wrote about what that means for the business and the token here:
Derive owns 93% of onchain options premium volume. Onchain options are 5% of Deribit. That gap is the whole trade. New research on what Derive actually earns, what V3 changes, and where the buyback stops working.
