Our Monroe community donated 1 million Jamaican dollars each to two institutions in Jamaica that suffered from the hurricane. Special thanks to Shanique McKenzie Daniel and Lorraine Myers for presenting the checks.

The map of Melvin Council Jr.’s career is a testament to the grind.
Zero D1 offers out of high school.
📍 Monroe College (JUCO)
📍 Wagner
📍 St. Bonaventure
📍 Kansas
He took the longest road possible to get here.
Now he is the starting guard for a Blue Blood, the emotional leader of the team, and just helped take down the #1 team in the country.
He didn’t wait for a handout; he kicked the door down. The ultimate example of betting on yourself.

I absolutely loved this interview with an international student. He said very nice things about me.
I am not sure if he was influenced by the interviewer who is the Director of Alumni Relations who happens to be my mother. 🫢
Special shout out to Frank Andriani from PSEG who working solo restored electricity to our block when a large limb took out a transformer. Englewood fire fighters and PSEG responded quickly and effectively. @PSEGNews @PSEGdelivers.

Erinne Perry, a proud alumna of @monroe_college, graduated in 2012 with the invaluable support of TAP. Without TAP, Erinne believes she would not have been able to finish college and pursue her dream of becoming a professor. Join us in the effort to extend assistance to more students like Erinne—let's #TurnOnTheTap and make higher education accessible to all. #APC4TAP
This year, please:
✅Expand part time TAP for students attending proprietary colleges (A.5833 Hyndman/S.6466 Fernandez)
✅Raise the maximum income threshold for TAP for dependent and independent students (A.6713 Fahy/S.7682 Stavisky) (A.8191 Fahy/S.7713 Stavisky)
✅Raise the minimum and maximum TAP award (A.1889 Clark/S.3474 Stavisky)
