Like I said previously, nothing more American than this. What bothers Americans is that she is supposedly doing this "for [communist] China". She is in fact not doing it "for China" she is doing it with "China's help and support" (obviously China gets the soft power ROI). I don't have any special insight into her mind, but I think she is honest when she says she enjoys both US and China equally, something most Americans cannot comprehend.
Maybe that is the problem. Not maybe, actually.
Demanding loyalty without support is why US in general is where it is today. Not just with Gu but with so many other Chinese. I don't think Eileen Gu would have objected to representing US at the Olympics. She would just want Americans not to HATE everything Chinese (which is half of her) and some support. But no.
Instead the Chinese told her we love you and here is a bunch of cash so you can get top notch training (and a presidential waiver on dual citizenship which millions of Americans have), and a whole bunch of sponsorships. Why in the fucking world would you not take that. So you can patronize some MAGA fatso loser who fetishizes WMAF?

ICE and Border Patrol have killed more people this month than US citizens killed by undocumented immigrants all of last year.
I’m sorry your buddies had their dinner interrupted but they’re literally executing people in the streets.
When I was in Minneapolis, I heard a number of crazy stories. But near the top of the list:
A couple of off duty ICE and CBP officers were going to dinner in Minneapolis. They were doxed and their location revealed, and the restaurant was then mobbed. The officers were locked in the restaurant, and local police refused to respond to their pleas for help (as they've been directed by local authorities). Eventually, their fellow federal agents came to their aid.
This is just a taste of what's happening in Minneapolis because state and local officials refuse to cooperate with immigration enforcement. They have created the chaos so they can have moments like yesterday, where someone tragically dies and politicians get to grandstand about the evils of enforcing the border.
The solution is staring everyone in the face. I hope authorities in Minneapolis stop this madness.
If ICE was no longer given guns, how many of these guys would stick around to do the actual “job part” of the job?
