American heroes Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito of the Supreme Court should both retire now while Republicans still control the Senate and get two new conservative Justices sworn in before January 3rd when the Senate turns over to Democrats. They are national treasures that I respect Tremendously, but the window is closing on keeping the Supreme Court safely conservative for the future generation. It will literally be the only guaranteed check and balance left on Democrat one party rule. Each of these Justices should advise President Trump on who they believe is most aligned with them to take their place, and he shouldn't take advice from anybody but them. Then they should send the President a letter saying they'll step down only once their successors are confirmed. This is standard practice. Sandra Day O'Connor did it in 2005, Anthony Kennedy in 2018, and Stephen Breyer in 2022. Each stayed on the bench until a successor was sworn in, so the Court never had an empty seat. In this 60-day window, John Thune needs to finally do one good thing as Senate Majority Leader and get these two new justices confirmed immediately. No Senator goes home until it gets done. This is one of the only ways to salvage and safeguard the Republic. The clock is ticking.
